Take Care of Business At The Face Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic in Indianapolis, IN

Posted by Amy Wittmeyer on May 31, 2009
Personal Care & Services / No Comments

cute-dog-catFACE Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic is located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. FACE (Foundation Against Companion-Animal Euthanasia) is a wonderful place to take pets for low cost services. These services include spay, neuter, vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatments, micro-chipping, and other similar pet care services. Although this is a high-volume clinic, the care is exceptional and more than reasonably priced. When comparing the prices of these services to private veterinary offices, the difference is staggering. For example, a private veterinary office will spay a 45 pound dog for $300.00 while FACE will do the surgery for $30.00. All of the people at FACE are friendly and knowledgeable. The veterinarians are terrific and all of the animals receive exceptional care. Even if a surgery does not go as planned, the veterinarians are well equipped to handle any problems and will prescribe necessary medications as needed (such as antibiotics). When calling to make an appointment, the people who answer the phones are efficient and also knowledgeable in pet care and needs. After services are provided, the customers are given follow up information and are also encouraged to call FACE with any problems or concerns. This is a truly great place to take a pet. FACE is one place where “low cost” does not mean substandard care… quite the opposite! To find more pet friendly places in your area visit GlobalYP the online local yellow pages.

Cool Off With The Family At Haynes Pool in Rio Rancho, NM On A Hot Day

Posted by Amy Wittmeyer on May 31, 2009
Community & Government, Sports & Recreation / No Comments

http://www.daciareyes.com/Images/DMag2008/pool_0.jpgThe summers get very hot here in New Mexico, so it is important to have a way to cool off. What better way to beat the heat than to go swimming at your neighborhood pool? Haynes Pool is above average, when it comes to community pools. There are two protruding pipes that pour water down from five feet in the air. Sitting underneath one of these splash fountains will give you an aqua massage to work out all of your kinks. Haynes Pool also offers two lap lanes for athletes and a water slide for children. The water slide is a half-pipe with a roped-off landing area where parents are allowed to assist small children after they go down the slide. There is plenty of grass in the surrounding Haynes Park to plan a picnic after your water sports. Besides the picnic area, Haynes Park also offers playground equipment catering to children of various ages, a gazebo for parties, bike paths, and an open field for group sports. The pool fees are reasonable, and they also offer a summer pass to those who come regularly. The one complaint I have is the parking lot, which is too small for the quantity of people that are served by this facility. If you are planning a trip to Haynes Pool, try to carpool with some friends. After a dip in the pool, go to GlobalYP, and search for your favorite ice cream spot.

Pets & Their Owners Are Welcome At The Empire Hotel in New York, NY

Travel & Public Transportation / No Comments

empirehotelI can’t say enough about the Empire Hotel. We have been staying there for the past couple of years and have never been disappointed. Aside from being pet friendly, it is a great place for everyone. We have stayed in Queen Express Rooms, King Rooms and King Suites. All of them were great and the prices were extremely reasonable. The hotel was recently renovated, so everything is new and clean. The hotel uses Frette bedding, which is really luxurious and comfortable. The rooms are very small, but that is not unusual for New York City hotels. The bathrooms are really cool as well. My only regret is that they don’t have bathtubs. The hotel is very stylish and chic, exactly what you picture for New York City. The hotel has a great lounge in the lobby and now how a restaurant as well. The lounge is a great place to get a cocktail after a long day of shopping or before retiring to bed. We were recently there with our baby. We were able to sit in the lounge/lobby and enjoy a glass of wine with the baby. So basically, we were able to feel like we were still going out. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were always ready and clean when we arrived. Best of all, the hotel is in a great location. It is across the street from Lincoln Center and just a few blocks to Central Park. There are great stores and restaurants nearby. Truly, it is convenient to most everything. To find more pet friendly places in your area visit GlobalYP the online local yellow pages.

Jim Dandy Cleaners, Wantagh, NY, Really is “Jim Dandy”

Posted by Amy Wittmeyer on May 31, 2009
Personal Care & Services / No Comments

drycleaning_jimdandyThe Term Jim Dandy was first used to depict an admirable person. While Jim Dandy Cleaners may not be that old, it has been a local fixture of dry cleaning services for over 60 years. I moved to Wantagh, NY in 1969 and Jim Dandy was always our cleaner. The store has undergone substantial renovations since then. As always, as a business person, this cleaner has if need it same day dry cleaning services with no additional charges weekdays if you bring the clothes in by 1pm. Obviously I don’t do it for everything but certainly in pinch it’s nice to know they have it. They also do laundry and after vacations we often bring over all the clothes to have Jim Dandy do the laundry and give us a head start after a long trip. They do cleaning but also tailoring on site. Although tailoring is included with suits I have purchased, like many people I have changed sizes over time, gotten tears in pants and suit jacket pockets and lost the hems on pants. Jim Dandy has the services to repair them and then clean the clothes to extend their useful life. To find more great service providers in your area then visit GlobalYP the online local yellow pages.

Construction & Contractors / No Comments

home_handsI moved to New York with my family two years ago. When we bought our house we thought that we had struck a pretty good deal but what we didn’t know was that our house was a complete mess from the inside with water draining from the ceilings, cracks on the walls and we also needed to do some remodeling. So we sought the help of Rosas Home Repair Services. And they did an amazing job of transforming the mess into a splendid home. It was hard to believe that it was the same house in which we moved in. The workers of Rosas Home Repair Services are very professional and very experienced. There were no accidents or incidents during the repair. They were quite efficient and were able to finish the job before the given time. The best thing about them is that they are well versed in every aspect of home repair unlike others who can perform certain jobs only. From the bathroom tiles to the wall ceiling, they fixed every problem. I am more than satisfied with the services provided by Rosas Home Repair Services. I think their knowledge of the subject is great and I really owe it to them for making our home beautiful. http://tippinthescales.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/salmon-cakes.jpgPerly’s Delicatessen is considered by some to be a little hole in the wall, but it is a great hole in the wall. There is always a crowd chowing down on one of their famous breakfasts or quick and delicious luncheon specials. Conveniently located in the downtown business district, Perly’s is only open for breakfast and lunch. Those who frequent this hometown favorite do so religiously; you can often find the same faces there day after day, eating the same menu item. No wonder the wait staff knows everyone’s names! Perly’s breakfasts are delicious, filling and reasonably priced. For lunch, there are hot and cold soups, sandwiches, salads and specials. Many of their menu items are healthy and weight-watcher friendly. There are also a number of vegetarian options, so everyone can find something to order. Try the fluffy salmon cakes, which are light, airy and addictive. You also want to try the coffee, even if you’re not a coffee drinker. It’s some of the best java around. And when your bill comes, you will be pleasantly surprised, as the prices are definitely wallet-friendly. This is one of the best bargains in Richmond. It’s no wonder that the local business crowd flocks to Perly’s during the week. Now everyone else will know why Perly’s is so great. To find more local gems, go to GlobalYP, you local yellow pages.

Andy’s Frozen Custard in Springfield, MO Don’t Knock It, Until You’ve Tried It!

Posted by Amy Wittmeyer on May 31, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

frozen_custardAndy’s Frozen Custard is said to be the best tasting ice cream you will ever taste in Missouri, or even in the country. I would have to agree with the statement considering I’m not even an ice cream fan, yet somehow I love their ice cream. Andy’s has been around for over 20 years delivering many different varieties of shakes, concretes, banana splits, malts, and more. They make their frozen favorites from fresh ingredients that are delivered everyday to ensure the best quality. The atmosphere is like something you would see from the 1950’s era. They have an always busy walk-up counter, along with a drive-thru. There drive-thru is not your typical “yell into the speaker” experience, in fact they have bypassed the speakers. Instead, an Andy’s employee walks to your car and writes down your order. Here in the Ozarks, Andy’s has always been a hands-down family favorite. People flock to Andy’s for their fan favorites or their seasonal favorites. They have a sign out front with a rotating ice cream cone on top that gives listings for any special treats they have. Thin mint concretes, pumpkin pie concretes, and strawberry shortcake sundaes are some of the biggest seasonal draws. Some of their most popular permanent items include the Snow monster (soft-serve ice cream, fresh strawberries, and melted chocolate chips) and the Chock-o-Rock-o (chocolate soft-serve ice cream, almonds, and marshmallow cream). Of course you will also find traditional favorites such as root beer floats, root beer on tap, banana splits, shakes, and more. Acequia Animal Hospital in Albuquerque, NM: Where Pets Are Family

Posted by Amy Wittmeyer on May 30, 2009
Personal Care & Services / No Comments

cute_cat-4I recently had to take my two kitties in for some dental work. They are strictly indoor cats who are getting on in years, so I wanted to make sure the staff would be gentle. At Acequia Animal Hospital the staff was responsive to my concerns and treated my pets like family. They encouraged me to be with my more nervous cat for the check up and this helped calm her considerably. The atmosphere was quiet, and even with other animals around, my cats didn’t become agitated during the wait. The vet took her time to explain the procedure to me after the initial check up. I really appreciated this since I have had vets rush off to do other things before I could ask any questions. When I went to pick up my cats the next day, they were groggy from anesthesia, but seemed otherwise fine. All of the paperwork was in order and the secretary explained each cost on my receipt to me so I would understand what I was paying for. The staff had the antibiotics my cats needed already out when I came to pick them up, and they had a technician explain how each one should be administered and stored. I would rate the service at this business as excellent, and I will return for my future animal care needs. To find more pet friendly places in your area visit GlobalYP the online local yellow pages.

Get Your Swell On At Easton Gym Co in Los Angeles California, The Most Well Equipped Gym In LA

Posted by Amy Wittmeyer on May 30, 2009
Sports & Recreation / No Comments

http://www.lamag.com/uploadedImages/LA_Mag/articles/2008/april/boutiqueGyms_P.jpgI joined Easton Gym Co. eight months ago. It is about 2 miles from my apartment. I am now in great shape, thanks to the instructors at Easton Gym Co. They have all kinds of exercising equipment and are all state of the art, so there is no muscle in your boy that cannot be worked out. The instructors are very well qualified and experienced. They prescribe different exercises to different people depending on their body type. I was initially quite thin but after religiously following their instructions, I gained mass very quickly. I go there four times a week, which works very well for my body type. When you are at Easton Gym, you are never short of pep talk from the instructors that will encourage you to go the extra mile. The gym never gets too crowded, so there is always 1 on 1 help available if needed. The hall is quite large, and you can easily move around. The place has a pretty good ventilation system, so there is never a problem of stale air. The best thing about it is that all these great facilities are available to you at a very reasonable price. I think it is one of the best gyms in the area. After working out, go to GlobalYP, to search for more great local businesses.
