I recently discovered a new restaurant while I was on vacation in Orlando, Florida named Friends Restaurant (at 1327 North Mills Ave). For the past week I had been only eating fast food so I thought it would be nice to dine at a family type of restaurant. The place was actually very nice inside and I would have to say it exceeded my expectations for a restaurant I have never heard of. The menu was quite large with more than a few different items to choose from and the food amount was by far generous portion wise for the cost. We had a male server and he was exceptionally knowledgeable. He answered every one of my questions, gave prompt service and knew when to leave us be. I always enjoy a quality server who knows his stuff. At the end of are meal the server handed me a comment card and I filled it out and personally handed it to his boss. I had a fabulous experience and I encourage anyone in the Orlando area to come try this place out. It’s a gem you won’t find food portions like this anywhere else. If you hate those glitzy dancing bars and prefer a more relaxed environment Chiefs Tavern is the right place for you. Chiefs is a small bar located in central Litchfield. The bartenders are friendly and smokers must smoke outside. You can play pool, darts, or video poker if you so choose. In addition to this, you can eat as much of their free popcorn as you want. Normally I would not mention this because most bars have, well, bar food. However, this popcorn is on par with the best movie theatre popcorns! Yet aside from the free popcorn Chiefs is strictly a bar. There are no restaurants within walking distance. Therefore, I would advise eating well before you go. Just like with any other bar you must make sure you go during their prime hours. Thursday nights are best suited for the younger crowds while Friday and Saturday nights have a nice mixture of young and old. If you go on any other days of the week the atmosphere of the bar completely depends on luck and circumstances. You will not find flashing lights, promiscuous minded singles, and obnoxiously loud music at this bar. Chiefs is best for people who want a simple night of fun with their friends. If you are in Litchfield I highly recommend a stop at Chiefs! Stop by globalYP.net to find a simple and easy to use online directory.

There was a Korean BBQ / Sushi restaurant I went to when I was young and I loved the feel and flavors there. I spent years searching for it and after many misses I’m certain Takamatsu is it. For those unfamiliar with Korean BBQ, they bring out a plate full of spiced pork or marinated beef and various traditional sides, and you cook the food at your table. Every time I’ve returned the taste has been just what I remembered – but more important than that is the ambience, the feel of the place. The colors, decorations and music are all very authentic and create a great mood. Even though I have a decent knowledge of Asian cultures, I sometimes have to go to the internet and search a song I heard; I’ll often find it to be one of the top rated musical groups of that week. The Sushi is also worth boasting about. I’ve frequently filled myself to the brim there, ordering some rolls I can’t find anywhere else. They have had weekly all you can eat deals before, though I’m unsure if that is continuing today. The staff is always extremely friendly, I’ve never gone in without greetings from the, I assume, manager and at least two of the staff. Often drinks don’t get a chance to get halfway to the bottom before I’m asked if I need a refill. And I’m always thanked and asked to return on my way out. In short, I’m a big fan of Takamatsu, return as often as I can, and am certain if you give this place a try you’ll be similarly pleased. Speaking as a relatively well traveled person – domestic and internationally – please believe that if you want to enjoy a full holiday break away from the coldness of high-rise, branded establishments and settle into a warm, inviting quarters, then, when in the Portland, Maine area, settle into The Inn at St. John. This bed and breakfast locale weaves a beautiful blend of modern technological amenities into its 19th century Victorian ambiance. Booking one of their 39 rooms for this establishment was completed quite easily over the phone after reviewing availability on their website. No more than three miles from the Portland International (PWM), a quick and easy taxi ride dropped us to our downtown location. The staff was extremely helpful, inviting and quite sincere (a pleasant change from many other cities and establishments). The private suite on the third floor imparted a feeling of majestic regality upon entrance. Ambling up the staircases (stay on the lower floors if you don’t enjoy walking) to the electronic card-accessing door made for a unique blend of old and new. We went downstairs and I thumbed through some old books upon the shelves, enjoying the complimentary hot chocolate and cookies on the coffee table. Directly across the street from our dwelling was the convenience of the local bus taking us to our primary destination: Portland’s bay area and shopping; ten minutes later the historic district awaits you. In the morning you’re greeted with a continental breakfast of fresh coffee, cereals, breads and fruit in the breakfast nook. The Inn at St. John and staff made every effort to make our experience a most agreeable and desirable event that we will assuredly revisit again when coming to this area. Marvell Plate Glass is a local business that can meet both commercial and residential needs of all sorts connected with glass. The company prides itself on having varied and complete stock, skills to provide for all manner of customer requests, and reasonable pricing. No project is too small for courteous attention, and there are always solid estimates with prompt service. This is a great place to turn for well-crafted shower enclosures as well as any needs for windows, doors, and mirrors. All relevant hardware is also available for purchase for all these applications. An interesting side-specialty is screening and repairs of screens, and this makes sense given the interconnections of glass doors and entranceways with the popularity of screens for use in summer months. Marvell also services the commercial glass needs of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. My own glass needs have been minimal, yet I thoroughly enjoy my visits to Marvell’s showroom, where endless possibilities and useful accessories greet me. I have been very pleased with plate glass shelving Marvell has cut and finished for me. Sometimes I have supplied simple dimensions, and at other times I have brought templates for replacing peculiar shapes in aquarium stand units. The glass has always been cut with precision and the edges have been expertly polished. My orders have always been available promptly as promised. The staff have always answered my questions and advised me about options I thought might be useful without ever pressuring me toward higher priced options. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Marvell Plate Glass! Don’t hesitate to visit globalYP.net, online yellow pages.
I had really long hair for many years. A bad experience with a hairdresser kept me from getting it cut. But when I got tired of sitting on it and having it get in the way of just about everything I would do, I shopped around for a reliable hairdresser. A neighbor pointed me in the direction of Hair Smith here in the town of Auburn, CA where I currently live. I was hesitant, but I knew I didn’t trust myself to get one of those home hair cutters and try to cut off over two feet of hair myself. So I made an appointment and was delighted by the service and the friendliness of the staff! It’s the only business the owner has and I not only received a great shoulder length haircut from one of the hairdressers, but she was so funny as well. She told me jokes along the way that had me cracking up. Sometimes she had to wait until I was done laughing before she could resume working on my hair. Not only did she do my hair so beautifully, but as a little welcome bonus she also polished my nails. I loved the hot pink color she used too! I left there feeling like a whole new person that not even my husband recognized me at first! Be sure to check out globalYP.net, an online directory.
Marsh’s Free Museum is such a neat pit stop in Long Beach at 409 S Pacific Ave. It’s a bit of a misnomer, because it really is a store, but it still has a lot of really neat things inside. They sell lots of little odds and ends. If you’re doing a road trip down the coast it’s a great place to stop and get a funky souvenir. They sell lots of things like funny t-shirts, keychains, coins, etc. What’s really neat is that with every purchase they give you this free card with a little seashell glued to it. There are a ton of old nickelodeon machines that you can spend your change in. It’s a good place to give your kids a dollar’s change and let them see what they had to use for arcades in “olden times”. Of course the big draw is the strange and weird oddities scattered throughout the store. They have displays like the mummy of the half alligator, half human “Jake”, or perhaps you’d rather see something like “real” shrunken heads. There are literally dozens of these types displays all around the place. Because of this, the store might be too scary for really young ones, but my kids who are 7 and 9 loved the place! It’s a complete tourist trap, but it’s well worth the visit. The whole family should find something to entertain themselves with here. I highly recommend it. With a great selection of food, including a range of meals like teriyaki bowls, curries and falafel, there is almost something for everyone. Every time I take someone to Venti’s Café for the first time they not only say they will go back, but they actually do! They also have beer on tap (if that’s what you’re into) as well as juice and soda. One thing that rocks is the revolving beer list. I don’t know at what interval they switch beers out but there is always something new. Upstairs is a nice family environment and they open at 11 AM and are open for 21 and up after 9 PM. They have a basement with a full bar that is open only to those 21 and up which opens at 4 PM. The bar staff is great! The basement does not have a television or natural lighting so it is really easy to talk to people there. There is usually music playing and there is a DJ after 11 PM every Saturday. It is usually not packed either so there is a seat available most of the time. They update their beer list on twitter @ventiscafe and they also post whatever happens to be happening there. Out of all the bars in Salem, I go to Venti’s. I can drink good drinks, converse with friends and the unknown, all while having great food. I had a party to go to and only about a week to prepare for it. I wanted to go in style, which included a new hairstyle. I was on a budget and I was going to do it myself. Besides, I was always very good at fixing my own hair. First I needed to find a store that sold beauty supplies for African -American women. I found Lee Beauty Supply and decided to visit their store in Omaha. I was amazed at their inventory. The store had just about everything a woman of color needs. From relaxers and all kinds of different manufacturers, to human and synthetic hair extensions, you were able to find the things needed to create the hairstyle you desire. At Lee Beauty Supply you were also able to get a good deal on everything needed for manicures. I saw acrylic nail kits, nail polishes in all kinds of different colors and treatment products to get your hands and feet in perfect condition. Overall I found my shopping experience at Lee Beauty Supply very interesting. This beauty supply store was well- organized and stocked up with all the necessary items needed for black hairstyles. The store-clerks were very friendly and knowledgeable. Over the last couple of years I have become a frequent and loyal customer and it’s one of my favorite stores to go to whenever I need to look for all things concerning my hair. Let globalYP.net, online yellow pages, help you look for all kinds of listings.
