Pavone's RestaurantThe sign above Pavone’s Restaurant boasts good food, good drink, and good friends. Located along Rte. 39 just outside of famous Hershey, PA, it’s in the perfect spot if you’re looking for a great place to sit down for a fantastic casual dining experience. Both the lunch and dinner menu offer a good selection succulent meats, fresh seafood, and tasty treats made perfectly. The kids menu offers a fantastic variety, sure to please anyone under the age of five. The restaurant section offers a mellow atmosphere that makes it just about perfect for a dinner out with family and friends. Plenty of round tables make sure that no one is left out of the conversation. Just to the right of the main entrance is a small bar area. Accentuated by an old time decor, it makes for a great place to have a drink with colleagues or munch on some tasty finger foods. Whether you’re hungry for a perfectly cooked Black Angus steak, fresh crab cakes, or just feel like sitting back for some good conversation and a basket of jalapeño poppers, Pavone’s is just the place to do it. The serving staff is fantastic, and the cooking staff know what they’re doing. I have never had a bad meal at Pavone’s, and I have never had to search for a parking spot. Coffee Depot Does More Than Just Coffee In Riverside, CA

Posted by Keri W. on February 28, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

Coffee Depot in historic Downtown Riverside is regarded by many local citizens and college students as a true gem to the community. The coffee house has a rich history and has an appropriate name because the large building used to be used as a train depot for luggage during the early 1900s and although the building has naturally been restored, it is still very authentic and has a very traditional, depot type aura to it. The building itself is truly one of the largest coffee houses I have ever been to or heard of and is even two stories. There is a main room, a lounge/library, and another large room which functions as a sitting area and a room for performances and various events. Coffee Depot also has events such as Swing Dancing and Poetry Readings going on nearly every day of the week. Also, you can’t forget the great coffee! Coffee Depot really has a true, non commercialized taste in their coffee with a large menu with both coffee drinks and breakfast/ lunch foods similar to those of a café offering sandwiches and yogurt parfaits. The people behind the counter are also very friendly and always chatting up customers. The coffee shop is almost always full of people but it never really feels crowded because of the vast amount of seating. Coffee Depot is truly an amazing coffee house and I would highly recommend it for anyone to visit. GlobalYP.net is truly a great place to find local business listings online.

Sandra D’s Garden Cafe – The Perfect Italian Restaurant In Auburn, IN

Posted by tluke on February 28, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

Sandra D's Garden CafeI’ve wined and dined at several fancy, high-class restaurants across the Midwest. However, none of these restaurants seem to even compare to the quality of Sandra D’s Garden Cafe. Located at 1330 S Main St, Auburn, IN and owned by Sandra and Benttey Dillinger(chef), they take pride in the excellent Italian cuisine accommodated by their wonderful service. My favorite dish from this secluded restaurant is the Ziti al Forno, with 3 freshly baked cheeses combined with a delicious marinara sauce. Alongside this meal I had an order of warm breadsticks and a salad with the most magnificent dressing: Peppercorn Parmesan. For dessert, there is a quite a selection, but I recommend the Teardrop. This pastry is made with seasonal flavors such as apple, cherry, peach, and pecan. This restaurant also serves breakfast (on weekends) and lunches which are superb. The dinner menu, however, has the largest variety of Italian cookery ranging from crusted tilapia to pastas to fresh homemade chicken salads. The best part of all is the price. Dining for two costs a mere 40 dollars with appetizers, salads, drinks, breadsticks and the meal. If you’re planning on visiting this first-rate Italian restaurant, be sure to call ahead and make reservations for one of the 10 dining tables it has. With wonderful owners serving incredible food, this garden café makes for a perfect local establishment! To find other great places in your area, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.

Savor Delicious Dishes At Salsa’s Mexican Restaurant In Charlotte, NC

Posted by Keri W. on February 28, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

Salsa’s Mexican Restaurant in Charlotte, NC has the best salsa I’ve ever tasted – even better than in Mexico – but that is not the only thing it has going for it. Every dish I’ve tried has been wonderful. My favorites are the California burrito, the Pollo con queso and the chimichangas. The ingredients are always so fresh and perfectly cooked. With extremely generous portions at very reasonable prices, you definitely get your money’s worth! The food is so good that even after filling up on the amazing salsa first, you can’t stop until your plate is clean. The staff is friendly and attentive – your glass is never empty – and the atmosphere is perfect to bring the family for a fun, casual night out. You can do all that without missing your favorite sports game on one of the many TVs throughout the restaurant or bar area. The rest of Charlotte must love this restaurant as much as I do as they have now expanded to their third location, although my favorite is the one near Ballantyne and Pineville. Cleanliness is a big factor for me too, and I’ve never found the restaurant or bathrooms unclean on any of my many visits at multiple locations. So when you’re in the mood for Mexican, you can’t go wrong by heading to Salsa’s! When you need something from the phonebook, you can’t go wrong with globalYP.net, an easy to use online directory.

Enjoy A Large Dish With A Small Wallet At Kotobuki In Babylon, NY

kotobukiIf you are looking for divine sushi that will satisfy your taste buds, visit Kotobuki in Babylon, NY. The space is small and they do not take reservations, but once you get a table, the quirks are worth enduring the short wait. The fish is extraordinarily fresh and well prepared. Rolls have excellent flavor combinations and are not just your standard American sushi fare. If you want a feast, the sushi specials for 1, 2, and 3 provide an overabundant amount of food, considering the budget-friendly price. The hot food is also delicious and cooked to perfection. Believe me when I say that the fried oyster appetizer is not to be missed. For the less adventurous eater, the pork and chicken Katsu are well prepared and not at all greasy. The specialty salads are delicious, as well. Tempura fried ice cream comes to the table with an amazing crunch and a delicious combination of hot and cold. I must tell you that the service at this establishment is superb! Customers are treated like friends and are efficiently taken care of. The décor is nice, serving as a reminder that you are in a Japanese restaurant. Kotobuki is definitely worth a visit! To find more Japanese restaurants, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.

Seaburn Books Serves Astoria, NY With An Excellent Selection Of Ethnic Literature

Posted by Keri W. on February 28, 2010
Retail Stores / No Comments

Seaburn Books is Astoria, New York’s only bookstore. For a large neighborhood, this is a surprise. One would assume that a big name retailer would have moved in by now; however, this is a blessing in disguise for Sam Chekwas, owner of Seaburn Books, who otherwise would probably be squeezed out by such competition. Dr. Chekwas, a Nigerian scholar who spent time in Greece and speaks the language fluently, runs a publishing company out of this bookstore which specializes in African American literature, as well as Greek and Spanish books, fitting into Astoria’s demographic very well. Going into the store, you see every nook and cranny filled with books ranging from general interest to very specialized topics like health, philosophy and language. The only complaint you could have about the store is that the organization of it is a bit un-orderly, and hard to navigate if simply browsing, but that’s half the fun. When I went myself, I found sections with last-name alphabetizing, and some with title alphabetizing. However, there is always a knowledgeable staff member on hand to guide you; many times Dr. Chekwas himself is there. While it may not be the most time-efficient bookstore, it is easy to get lost in it and find a rare gem you may not have expected to buy. Support your local business by visiting this quaint bookstore in person or online. Find more local business listings online at globalYP.net.

Gyros & More, A Satisfying Meal In Turlock, CA

Posted by Jordan G. on February 28, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

gyros & moreOn my recent visit to a small, but comfortable, Gyros & More in Turlock, CA I was greeted by smiling faces and great hospitality. My wife and I stumbled across this fine establishment and I am glad we did! As we started to look over the menu, it was a bit foreign to us, but they were more than willing to assist us. My wife and I are usually leery about trying new food, but this was a fantastic exploration. After deciding on what we were going to eat, the chefs prepared our meals right in front of us. Most people appreciate this, as they are aware that their food is properly cooked and handled. Customers can bask in the enjoyable, energetic environment, while enjoying flavorful food. I must tell you that the portions are large, considering the price you pay. After we took the first bite, we both looked at one another with pure delight and satisfaction. The meal was original and very good. I now frequent Gyros & More as much as possible. If I had to rate this restaurant, it would qualify as a perfect ten. I would refer this place to all of my friends and family members. To find other unique restaurants like this, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.

Treat Your Hair To A Day Of Perfection At Progressions Salon In Woodbridge, CT

Posted by Jordan G. on February 27, 2010

progressions salonProgressions Salon, located in Woodbridge, CT, is indeed the only salon I go to when I am vacationing in America. The quality of services provided by the diligent staff goes beyond words and really leaves you in awe. This salon encompasses a variety of things, from hair styling to dealing with cosmetics, and providing excellent pedicures and manicures that are to die for. Progressions salon gives you perfection without burning through your wallet. All that it provides is affordable, but flawless. This business, in my opinion, is the best. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew it would remain true to me. I have been going for the past five years. This salon has really left me impressed with its styling techniques for hair, but has also caught my attention in terms of interior décor. I have noted how this salon has modified its look to keep up with the times. Honestly, I love Progressions because it is not your typical salon, where the personnel are concerned with profit and not concerned about you. They make sure to satisfy your needs by paying careful attention to your specific needs and providing you with the appropriate hair care treatments. Progressions may be a small business, but regardless of size, it has made a huge impact on where I decide to have my hair styled. Jeni’s Ice Cream, A Sweet Lover’s Paradise In Columbus, OH

Posted by Jordan G. on February 27, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

jeni's ice creamsAnytime I come to Columbus, OH on business I make it a point to stop at Jeni’s Ice Creams. I have visited both of their locations at the North Market and Short North. It does not matter which location you choose, the service and ice cream will be equally exquisite. A majority of their ice cream flavors are combinations you would never expect to find, but they blend together masterfully. Gravel Road (salty caramel with tasty almonds) and Salty Carmel are my two favorite orders at Jeni’s. They also seem to be local favorites. I almost always get the trio when I go. You receive three scoops of ice cream for $4.25. That way I get three wonderful flavors instead of one! Another added bonus about Jeni’s is that you get free samples. This is half the fun! This place has all kinds of tasty seasonal ice creams that are a delight to sample. If you like a particular flavor, they sell pints at very reasonable prices. Jeni’s staff is also very accommodating and knowledgeable. So if you ever are passing through or visiting Columbus and have the urge for sweets, I highly suggest a stop at this ice cream paradise.
