Kobe Steaks Japanese Restaurant in Atlanta, GA is the home of the best steak you will eat in your entire life! The restaurant serves lunch Monday through Friday and dinner every day of the week. The restaurant serves traditional Japanese food. You start your meal with green tea, soup, and ginger salad. Then, you are served fried rice and a shrimp appetizer. Next, you are served your entrée along with vegetables that include broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, and bean sprouts. You may end your meal with green tea ice cream or pineapple sherbet. The food is prepared hibachi style, on a grill right in front of you. The Kobe steak filet mignon is the best steak you will ever eat. It is so tender that you can cut it with your fork. The filet mignon is high quality meat that has the texture of butter. It is soft and highly flavorful. Some other excellent entrees include the shrimp, scallops, or chicken. The salmon and shrimp with lemon butter is delicious. The salmon is has a nice crust, with a soft inside that is topped with the most flavorful butter sauce. For vegetarians, the vegetable dinner entrée includes tofu, carrots, and potatoes as your “meat.” You must try some teriyaki sauce on your fried rice and you must dip your broccoli in the red seafood sauce. At the end of the meal, you really cannot go wrong with the green tea ice cream or the pineapple sherbet. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cool, and this restaurant is top notch. Stars and Strikes is a family fun center in Dallas, GA. Once you walk through the doors, you will feel the cool air conditioning blowing and you will be amazed by how many video games can be packed into one arcade. On your right you will see the entire arcade with racing, shooting, and coin slot games, as well as claw machines. Behind the arcade games you will find the laser tag arena. After laser tag you can move to the next room and play on the bumper cars, which will last for about five minutes. If you want a bite to eat, be sure to check out the Coach’s Corner, a sports bar and grill. The Cheesy Chicken Dippers are great! You can also visit every night at 7:30 pm to play a free game of Texas Hold ‘Em. After all of this enjoyment, you can still go to the upper level of the building and have fun bowling on one of thirty-four lanes. If you need to take a break, you can relax on the couches along the Satellite bar. No matter which lane you choose, a server will approach you to see if there is anything you want to eat or drink. You can order anything off the Coach’s Corner menu! To find other fun places like this, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.
Located in Bethesda, Maryland in the downtown area, this European bistro-style restaurant combines great food with a great environment. Café Deluxe has a large variety on their menu with a good assortment of starters, soups/salads, sandwiches, pizza, entrees, sides, and desserts. Additionally, Café Deluxe has a good beer and wine list and Happy Hour menu. I personally have only been to the one in downtown Bethesda, and I truly enjoyed the experience each and every time. Downtown Bethesda is such a beautiful and nice area. It almost looks like a mini Washington D.C. Café Deluxe is located in a really cute alley with shops and has huge open windows in the front of it (you can also sit outside). This makes for a very nice meal setting. The food itself is also delicious. My personal favorites are the Crispy Chicken Spring Rolls, Grilled Salmon with Orzo, and the Meatloaf. However, everything is made with such care and there is virtually no way to go wrong. With a relatively inexpensive menu this makes a great place to go with the family or even take a date for a romantic evening, like Valentine’s Day. Pilita Mediterranean Grill is located in the slightly hidden downtown of San Carlos, CA. Many people might assume because a business isn’t located on El Camino Real, then it isn’t worth visiting, Pilita is just another restaurant that proves that assumption wrong. Upon entering Pilita I was immediately enamored with the restaurants decor. The walls made me feel like I was dinning on the veranda of a coastal manor, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. There were both tables and large half circle booths that were comfortable and well spaced. I started my meal with a bowl of their pumpkin soup that had a burst of pumpkin flavor and a very palatable texture. Our server suggested an order of humus, which we took him up on, and were glad we did! The humus was made to order fresh, and I could really taste the difference from store bought or even deli made humus that I’ve had in the past. For my entrée I ordered the Yogurt Doner, which was thinly sliced beef and lamb and a yogurt sauce over crisp pita. I have eaten at several Mediterranean restaurants before and I was blow away by the incredible taste of this dish. Every bite, told the story of the restaurant’s dedication to fresh authentic food. Our server was excellent and very attentive and even though we were eating at an odd time in the afternoon, and there were several other diners, he single handedly offered all of us a great dining experience. I was delighted to have stumbled on this gem in downtown San Carlos, CA, and if you’re in the area I would recommend you try them yourself! Jim’s Big Burger is a family owned restaurant in Victoria, Texas. It is owned and managed by two sisters whose dad started the business 30 years ago. If you asked anyone is Victoria who has the best burgers in town, everyone would say “Oh, you have to go to Jim’s!” The menu ranges from burgers to burrito plates to shrimp dinners. There is just something special about a burger with a grilled buttery bun and leafy lettuce. The burgers are made with salad dressing, not mayonnaise, which I think gives it a unique flavor. The restaurant has an older style of family atmosphere with wooden tables with red cushion chairs and wooden booths. What I love is the awesome decorations that they do for the holidays! They have all kinds of decorations for almost every holiday or season. There is a tall witch that hangs over some of the tables in the corner and the kids go crazy over her because she is so scary looking. The employees are all polite and hard working honest people. They all work together with a common goal to “spread the love” (a saying that is written on the menu board). A really good feature the restaurant added was an outside deck area. So on a nice hot sunny day in south Texas you can go out and enjoy a delicious burger made with love! You can get local business listings online at globalYP.net.
It’s hard enough to find real Mexican food, rather than Tex-Mex, in the United States, period. It’s even harder to find that authentic Mexican taste in the northeastern part of the country, and nearly impossible in Maine…until now! The Fajita Grill, in Westbrook, Maine, is an exception to the chain restaurants or the mom-and-pop places that throw tacos on their menu and call themselves Mexican. Fajita Grill is Mexican-owned and almost entirely Mexican-staffed, and is a good…no, great…no, marvelous place to get real Mexican food in the northeast. The food at The Fajita Grill, apart from being authentic (no Ortega taco shells here!), is absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The variety on the menu is astounding, and you’re likely to find dishes you have never heard of before. I encourage you to try them for some real regional Mexican favorites (most of the staff is from the Guadelajara region of Mexico). As a free appetizer, you are presented with an overflowing bowl of warm, homemade tortilla chips and the homemade house salsa. The chips are definitely not off-the-shelf chips from the store, and it’s hard to resist filling up on them before the food even arrives! But, if you have an especially large appetite, or are with a group (or, better yet, a group of exceptionally large appetites), the extraordinarily friendly wait staff will fill it up for you again, as many times as you like. Actually, the staff and the atmosphere is a huge part of the attraction of The Fajita Grill. The ambience is great, it feels like a party every night, and the place is usually packed with folks who have tired of Taco Bell and other “Mexican” chains, and discovered this hidden gem. My absolute favorite is the burrito roqueta, a delicious serving of savory pork wrapped in a homemade flour tortilla and smothered in a white cheese sauce with a light green chile. I usually round out the meal with a side of black beans and rice, and end up with plenty to take home, because the portions they serve up at The Fajita Grill are enormous. And did I mention the prices? That same burrito, served with the rice and beans for lunch, will run you around $6. Dinner is slightly more expensive, but the portions are commensurately larger. If you enjoy Mexican food as much as I do, I urge you, even plead with you, to give The Fajita Grill a try. You’ll never want to go anywhere else for Mexican food in southern Maine again! You’ll never want to use the phonebook again when you start using globalYP.net, an online directory.
I originally went to Nardone’s Restaurant because I heard great things about their homemade Italian dishes. Little did I know I was in for such a treat. Nardone’s is a small, nothing to look at diner that seats about 35-40 people in booths and about 10 at the counter, true diner style. So when I walked in, I was not too impressed… that is until I got a whiff of what the waitress had on her tray as she passed me. Forget the pasta dishes! I was immediately taken back to Coney Island, New York! I sat down and asked what it was I could smell. TEXAS WIENERS!! Lucky me, it just happened to be Wednesday, which I found out, was HOT DOG DAY at Nardone’s, two for the price of one. I ordered two with everything (mustard, chili and onions). The hot dogs are grilled to perfection and topped with whatever you want. Everything was homemade and made to order. I will definitely be coming back, especially on Wednesdays. The waitresses are friendly, knew just about every patron by name and the place was CLEAN, no sticky tables and chairs here! Hopefully next time I come I will be able to tear myself from the hot dogs and order something else because the dinners looked great and so did the homemade pies in the pie case. Peruvian food is a relative newcomer to the downtown St. Louis dining scene, offering a unique fusion of Spanish, Incan, Asian, and African cuisines. When Mango Peruvian Cuisine quietly opened this month in the former Mosaic space just off Washington Avenue, fans of this diverse and tasty cuisine rejoiced — and those who’ve never tasted Peruvian food, myself included, prepared for a treat! Diners are greeted with a plate of fresh-made plantain chips and a tasty cilantro-based green salsa. On a recent lunch visit, I tried the beef stew along with a tamale verde. The beef stew was exceptional; marinated flank steak in a cilantro-infused stew, it was tender and flavorful, served with a side of steamed rice and stewed beans. The beans were a standout, especially when combined with the stew’s hearty sauce. My starter, a tamale verde, was a cilantro-infused tamale wrapped around a meat and green olive filling. The exceptional texture of the tamale was accented by the intense flavor of the filling. My dining partner had the flank steak sandwich, which was served on a grilled French roll. The steak was heavily but pleasantly seasoned, and grilled to a perfect medium-well. For dessert, we shared an order of flane, a very basic and staple central and south American dessert. It was served with a fantastic caramel sauce, and had a wonderful, freshly-made flavor. All desserts are made in-house. The service was also exceptional, as was the value (lunch for two with appetizers, entrees, dessert, and two soft drinks ran $34). My first exposure to Peruvian food at Mango was an incredible experience. To find more places to experience where you live check out globalYP.net, local directory listings that are available online.
Tex’s Star Grill in Watauga, TX (at 6101 Rufe Snow Dr) is a restaurant that I visit weekly. While nothing fancy, the interior is certainly comfortable and quite clean. The owner always takes time to greet me as well as all customers. Never is he not smiling, upbeat and easy to chat with. He treats his employees well, but he also ensures that they work to the best of their ability and treat customers right. As owner of this one of a kind restaurant, he really does deliver a one of a kind experience! As for what type of food is served, the quality and prices, well, the menu selection is very extensive. They have hamburgers, roast beef, lunchmeat, chicken, steak, gyros, hot dogs and corn dogs, salads, chili, desserts and so very much more. This restaurant is like a fast food and regular restaurant hybrid. The prices are generally lower than those found in restaurants. For example, a cheeseburger, fries and drink combo comes to around $5.40, but the cheeseburger is flame-broiled and the fries are seasoned. Their onion rings are crispy and tasty. The roast beef is tender and flavorful too. It certainly beats fast food! I always leave the restaurant with a full stomach, satisfied taste buds and a wallet still relatively heavy.
