If you’ve not taken time to enjoy art, you have another great chance to do so with the realism exhibits at the Greenville County Museum of Art. Long held in high esteem in the art community, the Greenville County Museum is featuring various realistic perspectives in its winter exhibit. The first exciting collection consists of paintings in classical realism done by North Carolina artist, Ben Long. This exhibit includes some by the artist that have not been displayed to the public before. He features modern portraits as well as paintings that are rich in allegory. The next exhibit, The Greenville Collection by Andrew Wyeth features many of the paintings that have given the Greenville Museum national recognition. The third exhibit is a watercolor collection by several artists in the photorealism genre. While these exhibits are certain to entertain your creative side for many hours, don’t forget that the museum also has a great standing exhibit on the “Arts and Artists of South Carolina.” You can get in touch with your heritage as you enjoy the works of those who are native to the state. Also, be sure to bring your children. That’s right! The children’s book exhibition features works by William Steig, of Shrek fame. The Greenville County Museum of Art is a great place to enrich your life as well as the lives of your entire family! Spend more of your life out doing stuff and less of it flipping through the phonebook. Find local listings online with globalYP.net.
