The Waterfront Lodge, Marina & RV Park is in the heart of Lake Livingston. It’s a 23 room motel that has kitchenettes in each room with refrigerators and microwaves. The rooms are extremely clean and tidy. They have cable television and wireless internet as well. You can get a room with either 2 queen beds or 1 king bed (same price). The rooms are large at 450 sq. ft. There is also an RV Park, many of their sites are waterfront sites in a beautiful park setting, and each site comes with full hook-ups. Their rates for such a beautiful spot on the lake are very reasonable. This is a great place to bring your boat and do some fishing. They have 2 boat launches and 16 boat stalls to keep your boat in, and many of these have lifts if you want to keep your boat there long term. This is a great place to catch Catfish and Bass, there are many tournaments on Lake Livingston every year. There are many acres of land around the lodge to take walks through and there are areas to set-up barbecues and picnics. There is also a great place to go swimming – perfect for the kids. You can also go walk out on their pier and watch the sunset at the end of a long, fun day. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to get away for a weekend for some fun and relaxation. Over the Edge Games & Comics is a gaming, comic and more store, located in Fairhaven, MA. I am into comics and it is my regular LCS (local comic store). They have a great selection of new comics that come in every Wednesday. They have a pull list service for their regular customers, but they have a great selection for anyone who just might happen to drive by the store. Over the Edge often has a sale on back issues and trade paperbacks. While I have been in larger stores that seem pretty cold, the employees at Over the Edge Games & Comics always greet everyone and try to help out anyone who might be looking for a particular book. Although I am a comic person, it is refreshing to see the many people who visit this store are interested in gaming. I do not know about gaming all that much, but they have many different games and tournaments going on throughout the week. They also have a huge Magic group that plays there often. It is amazing to see what some of these figures and cards sell for. They are selling them at a reasonable price, however, made apparent by their loyal following. This store also offers to buy and sell video games for a customer. All in all, Over the Edge Games & Comics is a great place to visit! Third Planet Comics is a comic shop located in the southern part of Houston, TX. The building is an interesting shade of light blue. Parking is located at the rear of the establishment. I have not really ever had a problem with overcrowding, so this is always a plus in my opinion. Once you walk into the store, you are always greeted by one of the helpful employees. This is one of Third Planet’s strong points- employees. This business’s employees are friendly and helpful. I have never encountered rude or pushy staff members. They are knowledgeable without being obnoxious. The atmosphere of Third Planet is laid back. I enjoy shopping here. There is a nice selection of merchandise, as well. From action figures to comics, you can indulge your sci-fi craving without logging on to a website and having to wait for the mailman. The prices are very reasonable. The comics are arranged nicely, rather than stashed away in some dark dusty room. I have managed to snag a few great issues of some comics I have been eyeing for a while. They accept the universal currency of cash and also the ever-popular plastic credit cards. If you are ever in Houston, stop on by. You will definitely be happy you did! There’s nothing like Book Soup, the eclectic book store on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, CA. Book Soup looks like it was pieced together in the 1950s and let all the best books in the world congregate until the right customer for each one wandered in. While waiting for the customers, celebrity sightings are frequent. It is the local bookstore to neighborhoods of Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills and West Hollywood. Just yards away from Whisky-a-Go-Go, The Viper Room and the brown “Welcome to Beverly Hills” sign, Book Soup deserves historical landmark status. If you are picturing a neatly cataloged, mainstream bookstore, think again. Part of the fun at this store is finding what you want and then discovering untold treasures during the search. There are travel guides, photo books, barely-published novels, poetry, biographies, cards, posters, and celebrity books signed by all the stars that stop by for a book signing. On the off chance that none of the tens of thousands of books inside strike a person’s fancy, there is also a newsstand outside where the beautiful glossy magazines still look elegant. Book Soup is a book lover’s dream, paradise for any reader, and heaven for those looking for something to read under the covers or on the beach. They just do not make stores like this any more! Many small towns have special stores that are more than just stores, but also a sense of pride for the community. In Hermitage, PA, that store is Kraynak’s. This great place carries a full line of plants, flowers, shrubbery, trees and much more. It is also one of western Pennsylvania’s leading retailers of model railroads. They have a huge selection not only of engines, cars, and tracks, but also of buildings, controllers, and other accessories. You would be hard pressed to find anything you need for your model train setup that you could not buy at Kraynak’s. There is also a great selection of gift items. You will find everything ranging from Steelers memorabilia, toys, model kits, novelty items, and home décor. It is almost like an old fashioned general store. During the holiday season, Kraynak’s truly becomes a showpiece for the community. They have a large walk-through Christmas display of animated figures, dozens of decorated Christmas displays, and a life size nativity scene. Kraynak’s is a great store! During the spring and summer, you can purchase model trains, gift items, and of course lawn and garden needs. The approach of winter transforms the establishment to sell tons of holiday items for decorating the inside and outside of your home, making it a true store for all seasons! Stars and Strikes is a family fun center in Dallas, GA. Once you walk through the doors, you will feel the cool air conditioning blowing and you will be amazed by how many video games can be packed into one arcade. On your right you will see the entire arcade with racing, shooting, and coin slot games, as well as claw machines. Behind the arcade games you will find the laser tag arena. After laser tag you can move to the next room and play on the bumper cars, which will last for about five minutes. If you want a bite to eat, be sure to check out the Coach’s Corner, a sports bar and grill. The Cheesy Chicken Dippers are great! You can also visit every night at 7:30 pm to play a free game of Texas Hold ‘Em. After all of this enjoyment, you can still go to the upper level of the building and have fun bowling on one of thirty-four lanes. If you need to take a break, you can relax on the couches along the Satellite bar. No matter which lane you choose, a server will approach you to see if there is anything you want to eat or drink. You can order anything off the Coach’s Corner menu! To find other fun places like this, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.

Caveman’s Bar & Billiards in Mint Hill, NC is my kind of hangout. The food is tasty, well above average bar food (fried pickles are my choice!) and there are plenty of pool tables. The sandwiches are well-portioned, classic standards. One can also choose from a variety of hamburgers, BBQ, and fried chicken meals. Although the beer selection is not very extensive, there is still a good variety. The friendly staff is quick to volunteer a tasty alternative if your favorite brew is not to be found. The pool tables have plenty of room around them, so there is no jostling other patrons while lining up your shot. There are also darts, virtual golf and shuffleboard, if that suits you better. On Friday and Saturday nights different local bands have a chance to play on a small stage area, often bringing people out to the dance floor. Additionally, there are plenty of TVs for your viewing pleasure, so you do not have to miss any games or races. It is easy to become a regular at this vibrant joint. Know that your will always be welcomes with a smile and a frosty mug. To find other relaxing hangouts like this, visit glboalYP.net, an online directory.
Dr. Phillips Community Park is one of the best parks in Central Florida for families. The park features both a large playground and a splash pad – a wonderful way to beat the Florida heat! The playground has equipment for both young and school-age children. The ground is mostly covered in foam flooring to help with falls. There are picnic tables around the playground and some are covered to provide shade. The splash pad is available year-round, but is most widely used during the hottest months. During the summer, there is a $1 charge per person and is free during the winter months. Toddlers through middle-schoolers love running through the sprinklers. Even adults have fun getting soaked with their kids on a hot day. There are two different areas of water activities to keep the kids busy. In addition to these areas, there is a fenced-in dog park, a soccer field, a baseball field, a basketball court, and walking or running paths. Open pavilions with picnic tables, electrical outlets, and water are available for party rentals. The entire park sits next to Sand Lake, which gives a beautiful breeze and a beautiful view. Dr. Phillips Community Park also offers outdoor movies one evening a month and an after-school program. It is definitely worth packing up the kids and spending a few hours here! Children’s Fairyland is a relic that has been rejuvenated over the past couple of years. With a great urban location, this wonderland is a hit with the under 7 age set. With rides for even the smallest tykes, and animals that all toddlers can appreciate, this colorful amusement park has undergone a facelift to include some new features, freshly painted scenes and an excellent puppet theatre. The shows for the puppet theatre start every couple hours and last about 25minutes. The puppets are exquisitely done and the shows are based on traditional fairytales from all over the world. The food is cheap and most of all, kid friendly. Memberships come with free cotton candy and some drinks – I’ll take it. During Christmas, it is even great for the older kids since they do a wonderful Christmas wonderland. The whole place is magically lit and a very believable Santa comes every night and gives each child a great deal of attention. Then he leads a parade through the park. Watch out for his helper, who is a cat though, as my kids weren’t expecting this addition and were a little freaked out. They also host summer camps, birthday parties and acting classes for slightly older kids. They can be a bit pricey, but Fairyland is a non-profit so they charge only what they need to in order to stay afloat. Avoid paying for parking on the weekends by parking on Grand Avenue and walking across the street. Avoid wasting time with the phonebook by using globalYP.net, yellow pages that are online.

Providing both entertainment and steak, Downtown Kitchen in Canton, GA is a blast. A great number of clientele require that you check in to the waiting list upon arriving, unless you make reservations ahead of time. It does not bother me to have to wait to be seated at this place, however. I have never had to wait longer than forty-five minutes, and you may be thinking that is a long time to be waiting around, but the entertainment makes you forget all about the time. Downtown Kitchen has two levels, the main dining floor and the upstairs lounge, which has a small stage featuring local artists. Once you have checked in, you will be pointed to the elevator that takes you to the upstairs lounge. It is a great area to order appetizers, drinks and listen to the live music. With the lights dimmed to set the mood, this place sets the tone just right. Before you know it, you will be summoned to your table where the menu provides a wide range of items. Depending on your taste or price range, I am sure you will find a great entree. Downtown Kitchen, however, has The Hanger Steak on their menu that seems to be all the rage for the locals. It is an awesome cut that is marinated in an exquisite sauce, a chef specialty. If you are not there early enough, you are liable to miss out due to the fact that they only marinate so many at a time. From the entertainment, to the service tasty menu items, I give Downtown Kitchen my approval! To find other entertaining restaurants like this, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.
