librarybooksWhen you think of fun places that the whole family can go to, the last place you would think of is your public library. But at the Denton Library, that is truly not so! They have three library locations, but the one on Locust is a little closer to my house and I think is a little bit nicer. My family doesn’t just go there to read books; they have a lot of events and get togethers that are interesting for everyone. For example they have a Chess Night on Mondays with classes and tournaments for my husband, a Writers Critique group for me ( I’m working on a novel) and an Animanga night, for my 13-year-old. He absolutely loves Japanese Anime and Manga, and this is a time where he can trade comics and Anime, as well as show off his drawings to people his age who love the same things that he does! I like this the most because I know he’ll be safe and have some nice clean fun while doing something that he enjoys. Of course they also have Story times and “read-along’s” for the little ones. I also only read books from the library if they have them, since it’s better for the environment. The website has a virtual calendar too, so we can easily plan ahead what we all want to do and when. The best part? It’s a public service; so naturally it’s all free! To find more family fun locations in your area visit GlobalYP the online local yellow pages.
