Ala Mode is a cozy little “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” hideout tucked away just past town in a little wooden building barely the size of most people’s living rooms. They only have seating for about 20 people at any one time, but the cozy little booths and and eclectic decor make it a relaxing place to spend a morning. The breakfast food here cannot be beat! My favorite feature is their pick two pancakes, where you can pick two ingredients to mix in with a big platter of pancakes. (Blueberry + Walnut = Yum!) Everything from the eggs to hash browns to biscuits and gravy though, is as inexpensive as it is fantastic! If you get there early, they offer a great selection of “early bird specials”, where you can get an entire meals for under five dollars. One of the best things about Ala Mode, is that even though it is in a college town, most of the customers are local families, so it is a comfortable, family friendly atmosphere. A big sign on the wall even states “No Foul Language”, so you can be assured of a pleasant, comfortable dining experience that you will return to again and again.
