In today’s economic environment, it is sad to watch local businesses fold and put a “Closed” sign on their door. That’s why it’s so important for communities to support local restaurants like JJ’s Grille, in Glen Allen, Virginia. This independent restaurant, hidden away in a little strip center about two miles off the Interstate, is a place to go whenever you feel like you need a friend, since everyone treats you like family when you walk in the door. Maybe that’s not so special, but it’s definitely what keeps me coming back – that, in addition to their great menu, affordable prices and special events throughout the week. It’s rare to find a restaurant that treats you like a friend these days, and knows how you like your burger cooked, or whether you take cream with your coffee. Live music, nightly specials, open mic nights and holiday parties keeps JJ’s Grille a shining beacon in the Glen Allen community. There’s a rustic bar that can get lively at times, but generally speaking, JJ’s Grille has an older, and more sedate crowd that still enjoys a good time and good food. If you’re looking for something special to order, try their “Kentucky Hot Brown” sandwich, and be sure to order it with the sweet potato fries, which are addicting. I guarantee that once you walk in the door at JJ’s Grille, you will be back. They are a special place during economically trying times. Want to find more great businesses in your area?
