Scotty’s Landing is a unique experience for both locals and tourists. Besides having great food, the atmosphere is the best Miami can offer. It is a very casual place right on Biscayne Bay. The people that go there are from all walks of life, from fisherman to business men and women. I have lived in Miami for 20 years and didn’t discover Scotty’s Landing until a few months ago. My first time was when some friends were visiting from out of town. We went on a Friday afternoon, just in time to watch the gorgeous sunset. We were seated right away (no need for reservations) and it was packed. On weekends they have free live music and on Sundays the waitstaff have a little band as well. I think that is what makes it so special, the people that work there. The ones I have gotten to know, have been there a very long time which says good things about the place. Even the local band usually gets everybody involved and before you know it everybody is singing along, just having a good time. I do have to address the food and drinks, they are excellent. The have the freshest seafood in Miami and the beer is ice cold, which is great in the summer months in Miami. You can’t beat the waitstaff, the waterfont views and the food.
