Fairmount True Value Hardware Is Truly Helpful In Bangor, ME

Retail Stores / No Comments

In a time where old fashioned hardware stores have been replaced by warehouse style box-stores, Fairmount True Value Hardware is a breath of fresh air. Locally owned and operated by knowledgeable people with real life experience, this is a store where you can find those hard to find items. For example, one holiday season I had a list of hardware items I needed to complete my holiday crafts. Assuming that these items could be found easily I went to the local big-box-store first. After searching futilely for hours, I tried Fairmount True Value Hardware on a whim. Not only did they have exactly what I needed, they had a selection of each of the items. The friendly staff at Fairmount True Value Hardware has never been fazed by my odd requests. I’m a fix-it-myself kind of girl, but I don’t know the names for many of the parts or tools I’m using. But when I go into the store for “one of those twisted metal sink fixer thingies” they not only know exactly what I need, they get it for me with a smile. And bringing in a spare part and asking for “another one of these, please” doesn’t get a smirk or a laugh, just immediate, friendly assistance. I have not been disappointed yet – regardless of how odd my request seems, they have what I need. Regardless of what kind of online business listings you’re looking for, globalYP.net has what you need.

Paddy Murphy’s Pub is a locally owned and operated business in the heart of Pickering Square in downtown Bangor, Maine. Paddy’s, as we locals call it, is a great place to experience what Bangor has to offer. Paddy Murphy’s Pub is decorated in a charming Victorian style with an Irish theme. The food is a delicious cross section of Maine made local entrees such as fresh sword fish steak and pub classics like beer battered onion rings. Paddy’s also specializes in Irish food such as an earthy Potato and Leek soup. There are different specials to try everyday that are based off the local market. The pub also carries delightful locally made microbrews at the bar. Paddy Murphy’s also has tons of fun events. The Best Bet For Pets: Bangor Pet Resort & Spa In Bangor, ME

Posted by Keri W. on September 22, 2009
Personal Care & Services / No Comments

bangor_petI used to laugh at the idea of doggie day care. Not anymore. Bangor Pet Resort & Spa has given me happier better behaved dogs. I stay home with my two young Boxers most of the time. While this is wonderful, the two dogs have separation anxiety issues when I try leaving them home alone for more than an hour. I’ve tried using dog crates, turning the TV on, leaving marrow bones out for them to chew on and other distractions. I would still come home to find my couch dissected or some other puppy mischief. I decided to try dog day care to give myself a break. Bangor Pet Resort & Spa allowed me to tour their facility and I was happily surprised by how clean it looked and smelled inside. There were different areas for the big and small dogs. There was an employee in the large play yard and lots of happy dogs frolicking about. I saw a younger dog in a run next to the large play area. I was told she was a new guest who was being evaluated to see if she’d enjoy daycare. On the way out the owner for the young dog showed up to pick her up. I listened to the spa owner talk to the dog owner as he explained how her dog had responded to the experience. I took my two dogs in for an interview process. I was a little nervous because my boxers are aggressive with other dogs when on leashes. The employees there understood and my dogs passed their interview process. I left them there and was happily surprised when I came to pick them up. An employee went back and I heard the patter of paws. My female hopped up on the gate to see me but my male took one look at me and ran back towards the play yard. I got them both loaded into my SUV and they both fell asleep half way home and napped most of the evening. They both seemed very happy and tired. When I take them in, half way there they figure out where they’re going and start bouncing around the car excitedly. They obviously love going. We get into the greeting area and as soon as their leashes are off and the gate is open they’re zipping into the back to go play. They love going to the Bangor Pet Resort & Spa so much I decided to try kenneling when I couldn’t take them with me on a trip. I researched other kennels near me but no one gave all day play time and the other kennels charged more. I was gone two days and when I picked them up they reacted as if I’d only been gone a few hours. I’m very pleased with Bangor Pet Resort & Spa and happily recommend it to other picky dog parents. My dogs and I are very happy with their visits and even better, I’ve gotten to stop weekly repairs on my couch! You’ll be very happy with globalYP.net, local directory listings that are available online.

Jump For Joy At River City Dance Center In Bangor, ME

river_city_danceRiver City Dance Center is the best dance school in the Bangor area. I have danced in many different dance companies over the years and have yet to find one that matches River City’s dedication to giving quality instruction to their students. The environment that you are taught in is clean and well taken care of. They offer dressing rooms for both men and women, so you are never put in a situation that may make you uncomfortable. There are many different types of dance classes offered at River City, including ballet, Jazz, pointe, tap, modern, partnering, yoga and tae bo. The quality of teaching at River City is above and beyond any other I have experienced. Every instructor that I was lucky enough to study under had years of experience and was genuinely interested in giving the students the best possible experience while they were in class. River City Dance Center is multifaceted with classes for children from the age of 3 to adults and senior citizens. They put on a number of wonderful dance performances a year and hold an end of semester show, which gives every student a chance to show off the new talents that they have mastered while in class. Bottom line, if you are in the Bangor area and wish to join a dance school then the only one that I can recommend is River City Dance Center. If you’re looking for things in your area, try looking on globalYP.net, an online local directory.

Animal Crackers Pet Supply CO, Bangor, ME, Almost As Good As The Real Thing!

Personal Care & Services, Products, Retail Stores / 1 Comment

animalcrackersThere are a few different pet stores in Bangor. You have the option of going to one of the big box stores like Pet Co, but I like going to local businesses to give them a lift. It turns out that the service and the workers at Animal Crackers Pet Supply CO are really helpful and its great location, close to downtown, makes it really convenient if you are on the way into the city. I like going into a business where the owner of the store knows myself and my cat by name. It is a great place and I can easily stop there on my way to or from my house as I live down the street. I always have questions about my cat and they are the most informed people about animals and pets I have ever met. If they don’t know the answer to a question I have for them, they will find out by the time I go back there again. I would recommend going to this pet care store if you live in the area. They are really well educated about animals and really love what they do. They have a great selection of pet food, toys, and other items to make your pet’s life perfect. Animal Crackers is a great store and I will continue to go there for a long time. To find more pet friendly places in your area visit GlobalYP the online local yellow pages.

Montes International Catering in Bangor, Maine – Diverse and Eclectic Cuisine for Your Next Event

Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

http://www.montesinternational.com/slideshow/_MG_9083-2.jpgMontes International Catering is a cornerstone of fine eating in the downtown Bangor area. If you’re looking for a healthy and unique alternative during your lunch break, you can either order out or eat in. Montes has two intimate dining areas and a fabulous wait staff. Typical lunch menu items include a variety of chicken, ham, and roast beef wraps; soups; salads; and larger entrees. Most dishes have a distinctly Mediterranean flair. For dessert, customers can choose from a variety of homemade cookies and other baked goods. Where Montes really shines, however, is its catering business. I have hired Montes for several catered events, both at their location and at locations of my choosing. Again, the dining rooms at Montes are intimate and perfect for small events with 20 to 30 guests. Anything much larger should be done off site. Montes will work with you to develop a selection of foods to fit the occasion and the specific dietary needs of your guests. Rest assured, this will not be your typical catered food. Each item is carefully crafted with a hint of international flavor. Food presentation is equally appealing, and the Montes staff is always courteous and polite to guests. If you have an event that you need catered, especially an event where you want to exude a sense of class and quality, then Montes International Catering should be your choice.
