Ziggiz Has Everything From Burgers To Burritos In New York, NY

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mesohungry/3511380297/In the mood for quesadillas? How about a cheeseburger? Try both. Ziggiz is located in the heart of Manhattan. Whether you’re in the mood for Mexican food or good ol’ American, this place has it all. My first trip to Ziggiz involved purchasing a massive $6 cheese burrito. Down the block in Manhattan is a Chipotle, but I was convinced by my friend that Ziggiz had a better value. The restaurant proved me right. After handing over my money, I was given a number and made to wait about 5 minutes, at which point I was handed my burrito. Carrying it felt like a workout. Opening my box, I found a generously sized burrito wrapped in foil on top of tortilla chips…a definite value for my money. I enjoyed lunch that day, and the next day, and the next day. Ziggiz also has cheeseburgers and Philly Cheese steaks. I’ve often gone with large groups to the restaurant, and we’ve all always left happy and full. The fries topped with cheese are perhaps the restaurant’s most popular dish, and a very sharable dish indeed. The place is often flooded with Baruch College students (located down the block), but it’s a nice place to sit and relax at the window, as the hustle and bustle of a busy New York street plays before you like a film on a screen. Have Fun Watching The Game At The Philadelphia Tavern In Manassas, VA

Posted by Keri W. on November 18, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

The Philadelphia Tavern is located in Old Town Manassas. Shortly after moving to Manassas, a friend of mine who also lived in the area told me that we had to check out the Philly Tavern. There’s no designated parking, so you’ll have to park on the street or in one of the public parking lots, but we’ve never had any trouble finding a spot. The restaurant is long and narrow inside, and pretty tiny. You typically seat yourself. There’s a fairly large bar and a number of big flat screen TV’s. The only time we’ve had trouble getting seated is during Redskins and Virginia Tech football games! They usually run specials on the food during this time. There’s a lot of local and sports décor, and it’s very homey feeling. The menu is pretty diverse, including salads, sandwiches, pasta, and of course, Philly cheese steaks. They even offer Cheez Whiz for your cheese steak (I’ve never been to Philly but it’s my understanding that this is the “right” way to eat it). My family and I have tried quite a few of the menu items and everything is delicious. The staff is friendly and we’ve never had a bad experience with them. The prices are also very reasonable. The Philly Tavern is an excellent choice if you’d like to have a casual dining experience and try something new instead of visiting the same old chain restaurants. Try something else new and visit globalYP.net, yellow pages that are online.

Ardmore Pizza In Ardmore, PA Has The Best Pizza And Cheese Steaks

Posted by Keri W. on November 06, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

ardEvery town has their pizza shops. Most of the time, only a handful seem to last beyond the first year or two; and if they do, it’s because new management comes in with new ideas and new selections. And then, there is Ardmore Pizza. For those that are making their way through the Main Line area, this little take-out pizzeria is a double threat, creating the best tasting pizzas and cheese steaks around. I’ve been going to this place for nearly 30 years myself and nothing has essentially changed, which means their food is just as good today as it always has been. There’s nothing to say of the ambience as it holds a couple small tables (reserved mostly for waiting), a large sliding door refrigerator to choose your favorite drink, and a small color television sitting atop. Don’t bother listening to the tube though since there is so much commotion going on through the open kitchen. Besides, by the time you get comfortable the food is just about ready. Unobtrusively awash with the other buildings on its street, nothing flashing or glitzy will you catch your eyes and avert your attention, save the eponymously named placard. Everyone in Philadelphia knows that Pat’s Steaks and Geno’s are rivals for who has the better cheese steak. Next time you come out of the city, stop over to Ardmore Pizza and experience who is the best. Experience how easy it is to use globalYP.net, an online directory.

Be A Patrong Of Pat’s King of Steaks In Philadelphia, PA And Sample The Best

Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/PP3BBaVxZLcJU54uP_wL6Q?select=EBvhTpaQ2eMRGlpX3C0QLAWhen visiting Philadelphia, there are certain places one needs to visit or see. Examples of this would be Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Art Musuem where Rocky ran up the steps. But when you’re hungry for an authentic Philly cheesesteak, one goes to Pat’s King of Steaks in South Philadelphia. They have the best cheesesteak in the United States. Pat’s, founded by Pat and Harry Oliveri in 1930, created the first cheesesteak in the United States. There is a lingo involved when ordering at Pat’s. A customer has to order quickly because the business does such brisk sales. One must say “wit or witout”, this indicates whether the person ordering wants onions or not. Pat offers different types of cheese options as well, provolone, american, swiss, or cheese whiz. This location sells 1,500 steaks and cheesesteaks a day! The steak sandwich, especially the cheesesteak, is known as a key staple food for Philadelphians. It’s right up there with the soft pretzel. Lastly, Pat’s is part of an ongoing rivalry with Geno’s steaks. This establishment is right across the street, and sells cheesesteaks well. There is always an ongoing argument in Philadelphia about who makes the better steak. Pat’s King of Steaks chops up their meat, and serves the more traditional steak, while Geno’s, serves pieces of fried steak with cheese options. Although both have very good food, I’d give the nod to Pat’s. They created the original steak and cheesesteak sandwich. While often copied and imitated, the original is the best. The best place to get a cheesesteak is at Pat’s! The best place to find local directory listings online is globalYP.net.

The Ten Stone Restaurant & Bar Is Perfect After A Tense Day In Philadelphia, PA

Posted by Keri W. on October 17, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

ten_stoneThe Ten Stone Restaurant & Bar is the perfect corner bar in Philadelphia. Whenever you go there there’s a variety of people hanging out, sharing a drink or a meal. My boyfriend and I always note that it appears to be the place to take your parents out if they come to town, as it seems that there is always a city dweller and their parents having a meal. The beer selection is extensive, and the food is quite tasty – there are options if you are a salad eater (tuna steak salad) and options if you are a cheese steak eater, with the filet mignon cheese steak being my favorite thing to order when I am in the not so healthy kind of mood. There are also plenty of appetizers if you are just looking to have a few drinks and watch a game. There is outside seating in the warm weather and the windows open full so even if you are inside on a pleasant day you can still experience the breeze! There are cozy fireplaces during the cooler months as well. One of my favorite things to do is to have dinner and a few drinks and then play pool or darts in the back area of the bar (there is always someone willing to play a little pool). Overall it’s a great neighborhood bar. See what else your neighborhood has to offer by visiting globalYP.net, an online directory.

Fill Up At Tony Luke’s In Philadelphia, PA

Posted by Keri W. on October 16, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mazaev/2324849074/Tony Luke’s, recently featured on Man vs Food on TLC, is a great restaurant to get authentic cheese steaks, pulled pork sandwiches, hoagies, hot dogs and hamburgers at reasonable prices. It is definitely comfort food at its best. When visiting Philadelphia, this restaurant is definitely a must see. I would recommend a few choices from their menu. One has not truly “lived” unless they try the Roast Pork Italian sandwich. This is the PERFECT food. Slowing roasted pulled pork, with sharp provolone cheese, mixed in with crunchy broccoli rabe. The taste is unbelievable. I would also recommend their veal cutlet supreme for $7.95. This has veal, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, and bacon. My kids are big fans of their hoagies. They are all reasonably priced and they have many varieties to choose from such as Italian, Turkey, Roast Beef, Three Cheese, and Tuna. The kids also like Tony Luke’s hot dogs…their Texas Tommy’s are delicious. Tony Luke’s also serves breakfast, for those who want a tasty start to their morning. Menu offerings for breakfast include omelets and egg sandwiches with bacon, sausage, and philly pork roll. All come in small or regular sizes, but don’t be fooled, small is normal size for most people. Tony Luke’s is one of the best restaurants in South Philadelphia. I recommend it highly. Don’t Deprive Yourself Of Dante’s Pizza And Italian Restaurant In Pottstown, PA

Posted by Keri W. on September 23, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

dantesDante’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant, located in Pottstown, PA, is the best pizza place in town. They really do have high quality food. I have had their pizza, as well as their cheese steak sandwiches, and also their hoagies. Everything I have ever gotten from Dante’s always has nothing but the freshest ingredients. Their cheese steaks and hoagies, are always packed with meat and cheese. They definitely don’t skimp on the quantity or quality by any means! At Dante’s you also get your money’s worth. The prices are very fair and affordable. Personally, I almost always get what I order delivered to my home, and I can say that every time I order something, it always comes in a reasonable amount of time. Every employee that I have every dealt with there, whether it be a delivery person, or a counter person, has always been kind and courteous. Their location is very easy to get to from any part of town since it is right off a major road in the area. From the staff to the food, this restaurant is five-star in my book! I can honestly say I have had nothing but great experiences since I have been patronizing this establishment. Find more places to patronize using globalYP.net, an online directory.

V&S Sandwich Shop In Ephrata, PA Is Your One Stop For Great Sandwiches

Posted by Keri W. on September 11, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

V&SV&S Sandwich Shop is the local favorite for fresh sub sandwiches and pizza in Ephrata, PA. Located at 440 N Reading Rd, the subs are always served on fresh baked long rolls and you can taste the freshness in all the ingredients. The servings are very generous and you will never leave this restaurant hungry. This place hands down has the best cheese steak sandwiches in town. There is something on the menu for everyone and they have lots of tasty sides like corn fritters and cheese fries. The best thing about the food is that it is prepared fresh in front of your eyes and the food is never greasy like most other sandwich shops tend to be. Another great thing is that the employees here never forget to add dipping sauces and they rarely get an order wrong. V&S is famous for their rendition of the Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak. They use chicken steak marinated in hot sauce, blue cheese, onions and red peppers to make this tasty treat. Most other restaurants that serve this concoction just add hot sauce on top of the chicken; this place makes sure that every inch of chicken is smothered in hot sauce. No matter what you choose to order off the menu, you will not be disappointed. Not only are the sandwiches top notch but the deep dish pizza and baked goods are some of the best around as well.
