After moving to Lexington in October of 2009, I decided to try Fusion Bowl Asian Cuisine. We had heard good things about it, but were surprised to find that it was better than we expected. The décor was appropriate and classy without being too upscale. It seemed like somewhere you could take the whole family, or just the guys for a beverage or two, and watch a ball game on the numerous TVs. There was plenty of table and booth seating available, as well as a fully stocked bar in the middle of the restaurant. This is an area where the sushi is prepared, and I highly suggest the seating at the bar for this reason. They also have a fairly extensive Asian menu consisting of Thai, Japanese, Chinese dishes. We had the sushi boat consisting of 26 pieces of mixed sushi, four kinds of sashimi, five pieces of nigiri sushi and six pieces of California roll. Everything was prepared exquisitely, and was beautifully plated. The ingredients were very fresh and tasty. The staff was extremely pleasant, helpful, and attentive. A newsletter came in the mail, and it was for a Chinese buffet on the far west side. Since my usual place is so greasy and far away, I chose to go to Café East for lunch and took my family and friends. It was excellent. I think I tried about everything. It was so delicious, and I mean delicious. They have a wide selection, including some American favorites like pizza. But I wish they had burgers, then that would make my day. The waiter and waitress were friendly and helpful. I gave them tips because they were very helpful. The seating arrangement was very nice. They had large tables for larger families, and that was a good thing since I had a large family. The cost was $7.71 per person, not that expensive and the food is good as always. The duck and mixed grill were perfect and all my friends loved the place. I don’t think I could find another Chinese buffet that serves up better value than Cafe East. King Wok, located in Roswell, Georgia is strictly take \out and delivery at this time. It’s a shame because it is one of the best Chinese restaurants around. With more of a New England style Cantonese cooking, it brought back memories of what I, growing up in Boston, remembered as “real” Chinese food!! The portions are enormous and most everything is fresh cooked. You can walk in at almost any given time and see them freshly chopping vegetables and cooking away. I would recommend the BBQ ribs, and the Moo Shu of any kind is excellent! Orders that are called in are made to order exactly the way you ask. Most of the time, your food is freshly prepared and is ready before you arrive to pick up the order. Expect to spend four to seven dollars on a platter meal and expect to receive more chicken and rice than you can eat in one lunch session. The restaurant itself does have indoor seating. It can comfortably seat twenty people. The layout is open and you will always be greeted by a friendly face. The kitchen is open so you can watch your food being cooked. This restaurant can get busy around lunch time; however, the crew handles the rush very well. I have been a loyal customer for over a year now and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for my food. Beverages are also provided in the form of 12 ounce cans and two liter bottles.
