The Village Grind Takes Away Your Daily Grind In Oswego, IL

Village Grind Coffee & TeaI recently tried The Village Grind Coffee & Tea shop and to my surprise, it was great. It’s cozy, yet welcoming and enjoyable. I ordered the Iced Cappuccino, which is actually one of my new favorites. The service was wonderful. The drink was done immediately, made fresh, and tasted great! As far as prices were concerned they are very reasonable. Some items did seem overpriced but for a cup of Joe and perhaps some sort of treat, you couldn’t go wrong. The shop is filled with a few places to sit, some newspapers, and all sorts of knick knacks. I’m sure some individuals just go there for home decorations. There are several rooms to the place, each rather small. I could imagine this place is rather cramped during rushes but overall was fine at any other time. I could see in the summer they sell all sorts of ice cream which just gives me an excuse to go when it is warm out. The shop is located downtown Oswego right down Main St. This location is great, it allows you to take your coffee and go to the library, sit near the park, or enjoy the river. Overall, I highly recommend this place; I might just head over there to read a book sometime soon, you should too! J. W. Hall’s Steak and Seafood Inn, In Aliquippa, PA – A Lovely Choice For Valentine’s Day

J.W Hall's Steak & SeafoodFor a savory Valentine’s Day dinner in a cosy atmosphere, my sentimental favorite is J. W. Hall’s Steak and Seafood Inn in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Located in a modest shopping center, J. W. Hall’s has been serving its many loyal customers since 1981. The restaurant’s outward, unassuming appearance belies the restaurant’s appealingly decorated interior, which includes two dining rooms, separated by a fireplace. The bar is inviting and offers a broad selection of wine, beers, and spirits. One might not expect to find this restaurant’s rather extensive menu. Besides the steak and seafood mentioned in the restaurant’s name, J. W. Hall’s offers chicken, chops, veal, and pasta. Appetizers, including baked brie, stuffed mushrooms, and deep fried zucchini. The menu includes a soup of the day and French onion soup. For the lighter appetite, main course salads and an endless salad bar are on the menu. If you plan to bring the youngsters for a family Valentine’s Day celebration they do have a children’s menu available. The friendly servers are always happy to bring a Shirley Temple, too. If you prefer your Valentine’s Day meal earlier in the day, a lunch menu, with a wide variety of sandwiches, is available. Many of the same dishes included on the dinner menu are found on the lunch menu, as well. Regardless of what time you decide to dine, make sure you order one of the desserts – they are delicious! Greenwich Grill – A Valentine’s Day Dream In NYC

Greenwich GrillFor Valentine’s Day last year, my boyfriend surprised me with a trip to New York. He had made reservations at a place called the Greenwich Grill. It was the most romantic Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had. We ordered a beautiful bottle of Saki and we both ordered a delicious Miso Lobster and Grilled Seafood Plate. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so considerate, and our waiter asked us if we were in a rush or not. We only had that planned for that night so we said we weren’t and that we wouldn’t mind taking our time. They left a perfect amount of time to sit, talk and enjoy each others company. The staff seemed to only come over after we were done a conversation and we never got interrupted. The decor was beautiful and very appropriate for the Valentine’s Day holiday. We later shared a cheesecake which was so light a creamy. My boyfriend surprised me with a gift box and usually I get embarrassed by opening presents in public, but the staff gave us our space and I barely noticed we were in a restaurant. It was such a pleasant night and if I ever have the chance to go back to New York, Greenwich Grill would be my first stop. Maybe I’ll get another surprise this Valentine’s Day! Soul de CubaValentine’s Day should be a romantic day, with you and your sweetheart gazing lovingly into one another’s eyes. At all too many restaurants, you find yourself awash in a sea of tables. It’s hard for your date to feel special when everyone else in the room is on the same date. At Soul de Cuba in New Haven, Connecticut, you can enjoy an intimate atmosphere, with small tables closely tucked together in this close space. The restaurant is downtown, so you feel like you are out and about, but once you step into Soul de Cuba you will be transported to a warm world that feels far removed from the cold February New England streets. The culinary delights will amaze you – the selection of Cuban food will warm your soul and provide an exciting change of pace from the standard pasta-for-Valentine’s-Day fare. The plantains, in particular, are excellent, and the mojitos are mouth-watering. The owner has two Soul de Cuba restaurants – one in New Haven and the other in Honolulu. Wouldn’t it be romantic to propose in New Haven and then dine in Honolulu on one’s honeymoon? The dishes at both are prepared according to family recipes passed down for generations. The Pollo Soul De Cuba sings with its very own homemade salsa, and the black bean soup and chili will warm up your evening. Whether it’s a first date or thirty-sixth Valentine’s Day as a married couple, Soul de Cuba will provide a Valentine’s Day meal unlike any you’ve had before and memories that you will not forget. Penelope's Teas & GiftsPenelope’s Teas and Gifts will take you to a lovely place where you can just sit, relax and enjoy a tasty cup of tea. The décor of Penelope’s is very cozy. There are armchairs with doilies on them, a nice fireplace, and every teapot has a cozy! It really sets the mood for a nice cup of tea. I went in on a rainy day so it was exceptionally cozy that day. Also, once a month two girls come in and play the violin for your enjoyment. It really is quite lovely to sit and chat and listen to the music. Their teas taste delicious; you get your own pot of tea, which you can select from a special tea menu. Their food is delicious! Little cucumber and cream cheese tea sandwiches are the perfect compliment to the teeny desserts they serve. They also sell a lot of tea accessories like their handmade tea cozies, handmade cards made by local businesses, their wonderful tea, and specialty teacups and pots. I love going there with good friends and just sitting and chatting over a nice cup of tea. So go make some merriment of your own! Sit back relax and enjoy Penelope’s Teas!
