http://www.flickr.com/photos/stuart_spivack/305158651/Forget Ben & Jerry’s, forget Haagen-Dazs…Queen City Creamery in Cumberland, Maryland has the best ice cream you will ever taste! I say “ice cream”, but technically, it’s frozen custard. The difference is the addition of egg yolks, which give frozen custard a smoother and creamier taste than plain old ice cream. In addition to the regular flavors of chocolate and vanilla, which are served every day, Queen City Creamery also serves a different featured flavor every day. To name just a few of the flavors that you might find, there’s: Pistachio, Blueberry Muffin, Chocolate, M&M, White House Cherry, Dreamsicle …and my personal favorite, Take 5 (tastes just like the candy bar!) You can have those flavors served in a cup or on a homemade waffle cone, or in a variety of sundaes with just about any topping you can think of. You can also have them made into a milkshake, or packed as pints or quarts for you to take home! Although the frozen custard is definitely the star of the show, Queen City Creamery is more than just dessert. They also feature a full menu of breakfast options, and deli soups and sandwiches for lunch and dinner. And all day long, they serve all the coffee drinks you could want – cappuccinos, lattes, espressos and more. All this, in the beautiful setting of historic downtown Cumberland! Just steps from the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, and right off Interstate 68… you won’t regret visiting Queen City Creamery! Cumberland House of PizzaCumberland House of Pizza is the local hot spot in Cumberland Rhode Island. Located on Mendon Road, the busiest street in down, CHOP’s is where teachers, students and residents of Cumberland hang out, and for good reason! This savory pizza is to die for! It features all varieties of pizza, with mouthwatering thin crust and the perfect sauce to cheese ratio. Not only that, but other selections on CHOP’s menu are just as delicious. My personal favorite is their buffalo wings and french fries. Not only is the food great, but the people at CHOP’s are warm and inviting. Everyone knows everyone else and if you don’t, you are sure to make friends. People usually go to CHOP’s after a football or baseball game. Who doesn’t like to push a few tables together and have dinner with friends? There is also a bar section that allows sports fans to relax while watching their favorite sporting event. In the next room, there is a dining area which services those who wish to eat a more private meal. Drinks are served from fountains and food is always delivered promptly. All in all, CHOP’s is casual dining at its best in the Ocean State. Come join us for great times, great food and good cheer!
