Bring Your Furry Friend For A Cup Of Coffee At Fido In Nashville, TN

http://www.flickr.com/photos/bhamsandwich/3824141156/Fido is probably the coolest café you’ll ever go to in Nashville—and it’s definitely the coolest one your pup will ever go to. Located in the “hipster” area of Nashville known as Hillsboro Village, Fido is just one of many small, locally-owned businesses in the area. Parking is scarce, but a watchful driver can squeeze into any of many tight spots available in the surrounding area; or, like many indie-esque patrons, there are bike racks available to cyclists looking to stop in. The café boasts a fabulous menu of items ranging from tasty nibbles to filling breakfasts, gourmet coffee creations to locally-conscious soups. And the best part is, they welcome dogs! Fido has a variety of dog treats available for purchase in the café, and also hosts activities for pets and their owners, further integrating themselves to the community that visits frequently. Look for the masses of fliers advertising local up-and-comers in entertainment while you enjoy your deliciously flavored coffee (I recommend the “Milkbone”), or grab a Snickerdoodle the size of your head and hang out. Whether you’re looking for a place to sit down and do some work, somewhere to catch a meal and a cup of joe, or you’re just out on a walk with Rover, stop into Fido and see what you’ve been missing! Don’t miss out on globalYP.net, an easy to use online directory.

Nathan’s Dairy Bar In Manassas, VA Is The Best On A Hot Summer Day

Posted by Keri W. on November 09, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

Visiting Nathan’s Dairy Bar in Manassas, VA has become something our family looks forward to every summer. This little shop serves a variety of tasty treats including seasonal sherbets, one-of-a-kind sundaes, shaved ice and milkshakes. Everything is very reasonably priced and they do accept credit cards. It’s a small, stand alone building with one order window and one pick up window. The staff consists of mostly high school kids working a summer job and they are always friendly. Even though the line is often 30 or more people long on a warm summer night, they keep things moving very quickly and sometimes offer free samples of their daily special. It is a family-friendly and dog-friendly establishment. There are a number of tables with umbrellas and benches if you want to sit down and enjoy your dessert. You can also order a “pup-cup” – vanilla ice cream served with a milk bone. If your dog puts her paws up on the counter, she’ll probably get an ear scratch from the shop owner, whose own dog is often inside. Nathan’s even has a Facebook page and updates daily with the hours and the ice cream and sherbet flavors of the day. We would strongly recommend visiting Nathan’s Dairy Bar. There’s nothing we don’t like about it! Find more places you’ll like using globalYP.net, yellow pages that are online.

http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/XUY3H91GdDnMqYTw6iPDeQ?select=TxqeNz08bYMnK7Ani4xuowViva Taqueria is a great, family owned spot for fantastic Mexican food. They are famous for their tacos (try the tacos con carnitas, you won’t regret it), but they also have a great selection of other dishes, including traditional taqueria fare like burritos, enchiladas, carne asada, nachos, quesadillas, free chips and salsa, Mexican drinks, and even shrimp cocktails . They are located on the corner of Winchester and Newhall, at 444 N Winchester Ave in Santa Clara, CA. Don’t be discouraged by the location and small parking lot. This place is the quintessential hole-in-the-wall. They have recently renovated the inside of their restaurant and added on an outdoor seating area. The outdoor porch is a great place to spend a summer day with a cool shrimp cocktail or one of those amazing glass bottles of real Coke. If you have dogs you like to take everywhere, the porch is a great place for them to play and sniff while you enjoy some of the best Mexican food Santa Clara has to offer. The owners are incredibly hard working and friendly, so give them a smile and a kind word when you go to visit. They will repay you with excellent service and a fantastic meal. mushroomThe pizza at Mellow Mushroom is excellent. The dough is fresh and there is an extensive list of toppings. This restaurant always has interesting art and murals that are changed from time to time. Some nights there are different events happening, like karaoke and sports events on TV. As a tip, remember that if there’s a event going on at the Civic Center go early or after 8:00 PM. Currently they have started running limited time specialty pizzas. Try them, they are delicious and interesting flavor combinations. Mellow Mushroom has one of the largest beer selections in the area, with plenty on tap and in bottles. You can sit inside or outside at this location, and you can even bring your dog with you as long as you eat outside. There are lots of interesting people both working and patronizing Mellow Mushroom, many who are attending the local college, Savannah College of Art and Design, as it is quite convenient to much of the SCAD campus. They accept cash and credit cards and the average cost per meal for two is about 35 dollars without alcohol. Find more places near you with globalYP.net, online yellow pages.

Scoot Into Scooter’s Frozen Custard In Chicago, IL For A Frozen Treat

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ni_col_i/3693590525/Scooter’s Frozen Custard is a neighborhood ice cream store located in the heart of West Lakeview/ Roscoe Village on the north side of Chicago. Opened just recently in 2003by Mardi and Denny Moore, even since day one, it has boasted long lines and frozen goodness. On a hot summer day, when nothing sounds better than something to cool your temperature and excite your taste buds, try some fresh custard from Scooter’s. Think of Dairy Queen and Cold Stone Creamery… Scooter’s blows them both out of the water. With a large variety of flavors, toppings, and styles of frozen treats, plus better prices than any of its larger chain competitors and a cozy Mom and Pop atmosphere, there is no way to go wrong with Scooter’s. It’s very family-friendly (also dog-friendly!), with seating inside and out, so you can bring your stroller AND Fido (as long as he waits outside while you get your custard!) with you too. Scooter’s is easily accessible via public transportation, or, if you prefer to drive, you should be able to find parking on neighborhood streets to the northwest of Scooter’s. Find more great places like Scooter’s Frozen Custard by searching on globalYP.net, which is filled with local directory listings online.

Palmeri, Los Angeles, CA: A Cute & Dog Friendly Italian Bistro

Palmeri is fantastic for several reasons. It is an upscale, classy Italian bistro that serves fresh, delicious pasta and creative appetizers. However, it doesn’t have the snobby feel of some of the other nice restaurants in Brentwood. Palmeri has a very cute outdoor patio, and they are so laid-back here that you can bring your dog with you to dinner if you eat on the patio! When I went here with my husband we brought our beagle. He was very good, but the waitress was so nice to him! She even brought him a bowl of water. We had an amazing, leisurely meal here and have come back several times. As for the food, my favorites are the lobster ravioli and the stuffed zucchini appetizer. If you like seafood, the scallops are to die for. If you are into wine, their wine list is extensive and creative – you will definitely have the opportunity to try something new wine-wise. The chef, Ottavio, is a nice guy and on slow nights will come out to talk to you. Sometimes he will even prepare a chef’s special for you! Overall, I definitely recommend this place – it is laid back without sacrificing romance or quality. To find more great places in your area, visit GlobalYP the online local search directory.
