Howard’s Café in Patchogue, NY is one of the most unassuming bar/restaurants I have ever been to. The bar area has TVs tuned to the current games. The rest of the place is small and somewhat quiet. Jake’s Roadhouse is a small local bar located in Arvada, Colorado. It may be small but it is big on attitude. Great bands can be seen here every Friday and Saturday night. There’s a nice porch in the back with lots of tables and chairs. The patrons are very friendly and the decor is lively with a sort of “Rock-n-Roll” /”Biker” feel. They also have great food at good prices. The kitchen stays open until 10:00 on weekends and 9:00 on the weekdays. When we went, I loved this place! It was kind of small and crowded but the good times being had by everybody in the place more than made up for it. The bar staff was very friendly and seemed to know everybody. Even if they didn’t they treated the patron as if they did. I liked it so much that I went back on a Thursday night for karaoke. Now this is not something that I participate in and I usually don’t care for it too much, but I had so much fun that night. It was like hanging out with buddies.
