Schnepf Ray Farms is a huge working farm at  in Queen Creek, AZ. They have many different features, attractions and events. This is definitely a must see for every family! The farm has over 200 acres of U-Pick fruits and vegetables. We love peach picking! The fruit is delicious and very cheap. The kids love to pick their own fruit. The farm also features a working train, and several playgrounds for the kids. They also have a huge corn maze, a petting zoo, and amusement park-style carnival rides. We love the special events they have there. Every year we go to the Chili & Pumpkin Festival held in October. There you can pick pumpkins, watch shows, get your face painted, make candles, create a scarecrow or go through their haunted corn maze. Each spring, we make sure to attend the Easter Egg Hunt. They do a fabulous job of hiding eggs for the kids! They break the egg hunt down into age groups, so that toddlers are spared from getting trampled by the older kids. In turn, the older kids are challenged to find eggs in a mini forest. The children who visit always come away with a huge basket full of Easter eggs and toys! Center for Family Services at 213 Center Street in Meadville, PA houses an astounding array of staff members and programs geared toward assisting local members of the community. The Center strives endlessly to provide, goods, services and resources to needy families and those struggling with today’s economic crisis. There is no irony in the fact that the center is located in the heart of Meadville’s downtown area as it is a pertinent part of the small county. Some of their services include a rental assistance program, assisting struggling clients who qualify with help to pay for security deposits and first month’s rent if they are moving into a new place, or helping with back rent if they are facing an eviction. The housing program, which is for homeowners, offers assistance to first time home buyers and those facing foreclosures. You will certainly enjoy the unique mexican decor of the restaurant when you step in the building. The brightly colored murals and intriguing Mexican decorations create a welcoming, diverse atmosphere. All food served is authentic, Mexican cuisine. There is a large range of items on the menu, all of which have proved to be just as tasty as the next. Food is served to you rather quickly, thus, elimating a long wait time. Peking Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Dana Point, CA, offers a full dining room and excellent Chinese cuisine. What many not be as commonly known is that they also do take-out. This is without a doubt the best tasting Chinese food available in southern Orange County. They do not do delivery (but should) so just call ahead about 30 minutes. The honey walnut shrimp is to die for. Also, try the all vegetarian mu-shu. The inside dining experience is good but a bit quirky because they are so busy you may not get the attention to detail, but the food is excellent and served absolutely fresh. Wine pricing is a little high, but if you like that sort of thing they have one inexpensive Zinfandel on the menu worth trying. They are not really set up to take reservations, but you can call ahead to get on the waiting list that they keep at the front counter. On weekend nights it pays to call ahead as the wait can sometimes be up to an hour for the dining room. If possible try to sit away from the section by the kitchen as it is quite loud and a lot of commotion spills into the dining area. There are a few private alcoves near the front that are the best, but always seem to be full! A final note, when they ask you for steamed or fried rice with your meal, say neither. Instead ask for the “three ingredient” fried rice. You will get an awesome rice dish with bits of shrimp, chicken and beef. Yumm! O’Keefe’s Restaurant at 1219 South Fort Harrison Avenue in Clearwater, Florida is host to Florida’s largest St. Patrick’s Day party. Each year, this giant inside and outdoor festival is host to hundreds of people of all ages, tons of corned beef, numerous local and national live bands, gallons of green beer, Riverdancers, and plenty of tent space in case it rains. The annual St. Patrick’s day celebration at O’Keefe’s Family Tavern and Grill is for those who love an outside experience and can also handle a crowd of people. The people are friendly but boisterous. Be sure you keep your partner and family within eyeshot because the crowds get pretty raucous as the day wears into the night. Some of the bands playing on St. Patrick’s Day are the Hooligans, The Black Honkeys, and The Irish Music Band. The tent opens at eleven in the morning. Other features of the festival usually include face paintings, balloon animals, and carnival games. Usually the patio area is pet friendly, but during this busy party of hundreds of people, it is probably better to leave Scruffy at home. Children are always welcomed at O’Keefe’s Family Tavern and Grill although again this is a huge party and there is often language and at least a couple of drunken brawls after dark, so take Johnny or Jane home by then. James E. McNellies Public House in Tulsa, OK is a great place to go with your friends for a fun night. Every Wednesday they have Burger Night, where burgers are only $3. Don’t forget to get your order of Sweet Potato fries. As you guessed, Wednesday’s are very busy and fun. Great place to meet others in Tulsa. The atmosphere is fantastic. The staff is attentive and the customers add class to the restaurant. One time my friend announced her engagement, the manager overhearing our reactions, had his bartender give her a drink on the house. We always have fun playing darts or shuffle board upstairs on Burger Night. I will admit the upstairs is kind of smokey. The downstairs is set up more for dining and is family friendly. The place is so good that there is normally a waiting list. Since they just added a new bar area the line moves much faster. In November they sponsor my favorite running event, which is the McNellies Pub Run. You can even take the Guinness Challenge, where you must drink 3 (12 oz) Guinness before completing the run. This adds an interesting twist to the event. This is a great Irish Pub and while I haven’t been there for a Saint Patrick’s Day celebration yet, I do plan on attending this year!
