Museum Of Natural History _SLCThe Museum of Natural History in Salt Lake City is nothing short of a miracle. There are so many things to do that I’m still amazed. Whether you just pay the entrance fee and walk through, or you choose to take a class or program, there’s something for everybody. Some of the programs for children include Spring Break Camp, Boy and Girl Scout activities, birthday parties and summer camps. These all range in price, but the memories they provide can’t be measured. These classes are educational and fun. The kids won’t even realize that their learning. If you’re on the bigger side of life, consider taking a adult class. There are always different classes going on throughout the year. One of the favorites is the non-fiction book club. Here, adults 18+ discuss, debate, and argue over books concerning the natural world. If reading isn’t your thing, consider the science movie night. Once a month, there is a free movie screening and discussion on the movie. Visiting the Museum of Natural History is a no-brainer. It’s an affordable, fun way to learn no matter what your age. There are classes on biology and science, and even other subjects not referred to a lot in science. There is truly options for everyone, but the only way to find out is to visit. Trust me, you’ll be hooked. To find other great places in your area, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.

Joseph-Beth Booksellers Is A Great Place To Find Great Books In Lexington, KY

Education, Retail Stores / No Comments

Joseph Beth BooksellersJoseph-Beth Booksellers’ location in Lexington, KY is a fascinating place that one could wander for hours. Unlike many chain bookstores, Joseph-Beth Booksellers manages to give a cozy impression without sacrificing the size and content of the store. The store itself is two floors, with the bottom floor devoted to children’s literature. The top floor offers reading more aimed at adults, as well as a café, a music and DVD section, and merchandise. The merchandise tends to be eclectic, and samples many artists and foods from the region. As this bookstore is located in the heart of horse country, many of the items for sale cater to those who love horses and racing. The store also features an extensive section of literature on Kentucky, and events with native Kentucky authors are held frequently. Additionally, Joseph-Beth Booksellers has many tables of discounted books at great prices. I also always check out their employee recommendations for books that I may not have otherwise considered when making my selections. I enjoy the fact that displays of merchandise are interspersed with themed book displays around the store. It somehow helps bring themes alive from the featured books. Finally, Joseph-Beth Booksellers features benches and seats tucked away around the store to allow patrons the chance to privately sit and read before making their purchases. Roma RistoranteOwned by the Giambanco family, Roma Ristorante Italiano in Richmond, Virginia serves some of the most authentic Italian food in the mid-Atlantic region. When you’re looking for tasty meals that are prepared “like Mama used to make,” this is the restaurant that you will return to, time and again. Whether you’re looking for a romantic table in the corner for two, or space for a large banquet, the Giambanco family will take great pains to accommodate your needs and ensure that your meals are prepared to their exacting standards. Olympians Family Restaurant In Alexandria, VA – Good American Food, And Even Better Greek!

Posted by tluke on February 10, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

Olympians Family RestaurantOlympians Family Restaurant in Alexandria VA, is one of my most favorite restaurants! I am a pretty picky eater but Olympians’ has food for even the pickiest eater. While Olympians mostly has Greek items on the menu, it does good job blending American and Italian fare, too. Olympians sells the traditional Greek gyro, hamburgers, chicken fingers, spaghetti, salads, a variety of sandwiches, and in my opinion, the best fries anywhere. I don’t usually frequent Greek restaurants so I can’t say how authentic the food tastes, but in my opinion the food is great and tasty. I especially love Olympians traditional Greek Salad. Some Greek salads have an Italian type dressing on it, but Olympian’s Greek Salad has a yummy, creamy dressing on it. The salad is perfect with the dressing, feta cheese, olives, and onions, and of course the lettuce! Another reason I love Olympians is the price of the food. Olympians is very moderately priced. Some of the regular entrees can range from $14-18 but for the more basic fare such as a sandwich meal, the prices are very modest around $8-10. Olympians provides a very relaxed atmosphere as well. There is usually no wait to be seated. If you’d rather enjoy your food at home, that’s fine, Olympians offers take-out. I would highly recommend Olympians to anyone. Millie's Jamaican CafeMillie’s Jamaican Cafe is a great little spot close to the University of Central Florida. It’s a Jamaican restaurant with lots of flavor. The owner Mille is so friendly and usually running around. They have a great menu with tons of tasty dishes like Curry Goat or Oxtail, all served with rice and peas. The food is great and the portions are nice. There also sell some great Caribbean beverages like Solo (soda) Irish moss, Malta, and more. The beef patties are excellent and are always available. The crowd ranges from college students to adults, but this is a great place to grab dinner and relax. There’s a giant plasma TV in the dinning room so you can catch a game while your eating or waiting for your take-out. They have lots of flyers available to all of the local Caribbean events, so if you’re West Indian you can find out what’s going on in the community. DiCicco’s Is A Great Place To Take Your Valentine In Madera, CA

Posted by tluke on February 09, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places, Valentine's Day / No Comments

DiCicco's Italian RestaurantDicicco’s Italian Restaurant has been serving great Italian food in Central California since 1956. They serve all of your great Italian favorites, from pizza and calzones, to pasta, lasagna, and ravioli. It is an excellent place to take your dear Valentine for Valentine’s Day on February 14th. The setting is very romantic, with your classic Italian restaurant checkered table clothes and a candle at every table. They have a wide variety of wines, including some local ones, served by the glass or bottle. Classic Italian music plays softly on the speakers as you dine. It all makes for a perfect Valentine’s Day atmosphere. The servers are always polite and courteous. The food is always served in a timely manner. DiCicco’s is a great family restaurant, as well. You can bring the kids along when you can’t find a babysitter and you want to go out to eat. They even have a small kids’ menu, with several Italian and American items to choose from. I’d recommend trying the ravioli. It’s really good. Their minestrone soup is made in the house and is really great as a starter. Or you can go with a salad, which is always fresh and crisp. You also get a complimentary basket of bread and butter on the side, with freshly shaved Parmesan to sprinkle on top, if you desire. Stop by on Valentine’s Day, or any day, for a great Italian meal. Firefly's BBQFirefly’s Barbeque, located in three different locations across the Metro West area in Massachusetts, is the only place you need to go for great barbeque. Don’t even bother going elsewhere! Firefly’s has award-winning recipes, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. You are greeted warmly as soon as you arrive, and the wait is rarely more than 20 minutes, even on a busy night. You’ll slide into a booth and the server will bring by a small, complimentary cup of the house specialty: cucumber salad. While you’re sharing that, you can order an appetizer. The wings are a must have! For your meal, the ribs are obviously the specialty, but by no means the only thing on the menu. They also serve pulled pork and chicken, there are even salads for those non-meat-eaters. If you don’t have enough sauce or just want to try all 5 flavors, you can go to the condiment bar and get as much extra as you can carry. The ribs are fantastic, and although the quality of the cut varies, it’s overall excellent. Once you’ve eaten there, you know that you can’t get enough, but not to worry. Firefly’s also offers take-out and catering, so you can get your Firefly fix whenever you want it! To find other great places in your area, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.

Have That Itch For Great Sushi? Look No further Then Taste of Tokyo In Destrehan, LA

Posted by tluke on February 06, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

Taste of TokyoTaste of Tokyo is a small, family owned and run Japanese cuisine restaurant in Destrehan. Before they opened, if you wanted good sushi, you’d have to travel about 20 or 30 minutes to New Orleans or Metarie for good quality sushi. As soon as I heard about this restaurant opening down the street from me, I had to try it. Now, I am proud to say it is a weekly visit. Let’s start with the owner, Mr. Joe, who can always been seen talking to customers asking how the food is or to help customers find exactly what they are looking to eat. The rest of the staff is just as friendly, and also consists of Mr. Joe’s wife, daughter, and son and you really get the family treatment when you go there. Well since this is a review of a restaurant, let’s get to the most important thing, the food. Now I’ll admit I am not close-minded and willing to try anything at least once, and always try to get at least two new things, be it new sushi, entrees, appetizers, or desserts.  I’ve tried about 75% of the menu and have loved almost everything. When you first arrive to your table, you receive a bowl of their incredible, but simple clear soup, and the rollercoaster of flavor that is Taste of Tokyo starts there. All of their entrees and appetizers are delicious, but the real gem of Taste of Tokyo is the sushi bar. They have everything from raw, fresh salmon and tuna, to the intricate special rolls that provide wider range of flavors to try. The regular rolls run for about $5-7 dollars for six pieces, while the Special rolls are about $10-13 dollars. As I said before everything is exquisite and won’t dent your wallet too much, which is great for a student as myself. Overall, I would recommend Taste of Tokyo to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine, and I would also recommend it to people who have never tried sushi because – Mr. Joe will do his best to make sure it’s a great experience. 5/5 Stars.
