One of my favorite places to shop is Paradox Comics-N-Cards, or Paradox as we call it. A friend of mine recommended them to me last year and from the first time I went there, I have always felt welcome. The staff is knowledgeable about hobbies and card games and they are always happy to answer my questions and can help me come up with alternate solutions or products. They have taken special orders from me in the past, and let me know the same day when my order arrived. Another great service they offer is that when new products are released (being an avid fan here) they have been willing to take advance orders so that I can get products on the day of release in stock. All this extra service has not come at a cost to me. The fact they offer competitive prices while providing excellent service and are often willing to go above and beyond is why I am a loyal shopper and am always happy to go back to Paradox. I recommend that if you play card games, board games or enjoy painting miniatures, you should definitely take the time to check out Paradox. You won’t be disappointed. Jupiters Pizzeria & Billiards in Champaign, IL is a wonderful place to take small children. Jupiters is known for a being a bar, but if you go to the second location in Champaign it is much more family friendly. The basement contains fun games, such as mini bowling and skee ball. These are great for children! Though there is a bar located in the basement, it definitely does not feel like you are in a bar. A waiter will take your order and bring some of the best pizza around. They have exotic toppings and the average-style pizza. The tables are big enough for large parties. The staff is well aware of its guests and if the older children begin to misbehave, they quickly step in and make them stop. Although Jupiters is a little pricier than the average pizzeria, it is definitely worth the extra cost. You need to buy tokens to play the games, but seeing the look of joy on the kids’ faces is priceless. The upper level is geared more towards adults. There is even patio seating. If you want a more peaceful evening, you should definitely stay upstairs. If you are looking for a good, safe place to take your child, the lower level is the place to go! Monkey Punch Repairs provides excellent service and great customer satisfaction every time I enter the establishment. They have a very knowledgeable staff and I can’t think of any other place I would rather bring my computer for repairs. Even though they do provide the best in personal computer repair, don’t think for a second that is all they do, they also provide game console repair, disc repair, networking support, upgrades, data recovery and so much more! You can buy new and used games as well as trade games you already have for items in stock, or even sell your old games and/or consoles for cold hard cash! They also have all kinds of gaming accessories so you can get the most out of your game systems. If you like movie and game collectibles then you are in luck because Monkey Punch has a great variety of items that you will want to check out! Looking through their collectibles section is one of my favorite things to do when I visit the shop so I highly recommend it. They certainly have some great items from some of my most favorite movies! The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you have. Monkey Punch is a valuable provider of service, fun and satisfaction! To find other great places in your area, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.
Knoxville, Tennessee’s newest (and best) gaming store is one of the best I have ever been in. Organized Play at 221 Cumberland Ave, is owned by a very nice man named Morgan, has altogether the best playing atmosphere in the area. I go in every Friday for FNM, or Friday Night Magic, a tournament of the Wizard’s of the Coast game Magic the Gathering. Morgan knows all the players by name, and he is always friendly and asks how our weeks have gone. It’s a great place, with a real old-city kind of appeal to it, and it is set up perfectly for tournaments and free play. And the stock that Morgan keeps is astounding! There are always new games, comics, and mangas coming in, and usually someone there who is up for a round with the new games. Organized Play even has its own live-in mascot! Preston, the shop cat and undisputed boss of the store, is always hanging around to climb into whatever lap presents itself, or to chase whatever dice may be out on the tables (whether they are in play or not). All in all I have to say that I will not be going to any other stores in the area, because the competition just doesn’t have Morgan’s concern for his customers, the atmosphere that he has striven to achieve, or to be brutally honest – his great prices! The Coliseum in Camp Hill, PA offers a unique and exciting opportunity for friends and family alike to gather in a fun environment and enjoy some arcade games. Located in Central PA, this establishment is similar to Dave & Buster’s but more convenient for residents in the area than taking a trip to Baltimore or Philadelphia. Upon entering the Coliseum, you’ll have the option of going three different ways. To the left, stairs lead to a downstairs area which houses a bar and bowling alleys along with plenty of televisions for all your sporting needs. Straight ahead there’s the main attraction of the Coliseum, which is the arcade. To the right, there’s a restaurant with a typical fare of American cuisine waiting for visitors to come relax and grab a bite to eat. Since this is mostly a family centered environment, you’ll see a lot of kids running around enjoying themselves on a Friday or Saturday night. If you are older and want to have fun minus the crowds, going on a weekday would be the best solution. Several arcade staples are found at the Coliseum, such as Dance Dance Revolution, Skee ball, and Basketball games. There are also more up to date games such as Guitar Hero, a roller coaster simulator where the seats actually rumble to mimic a real roller coaster, and a Trivia game which is easily the most popular new game. For roughly ten to twenty dollars, a family of four can purchase enough tokens to last a couple of hours, which is very inexpensive compared to the cost of going to a movie nowadays. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the restrooms are well maintained. On a busy night the restaurant portion of the Coliseum can get pretty crowded, as well as the bar when there is a major sports game going on. The downstairs bar is a great place to hang out and watch the playoffs when they are on. If you’re looking for a new experience, or to cure some winter blues, head over to the Coliseum, and be prepared to want to come back over and over again. Head on over to globalYP.net and find tons of local business listings available online.

There are a lot of overpriced video game outlets in Volusia County. Go to any store and you can buy a new game at a hefty price. There are even places that offer used versions of the same game, but at too close to full price to justify. If you want a serious store that is as serious about prices as they are gaming, then Play N Trade is your store. They have everything a gamer needs at great prices. Buy new and used titles and systems, trade your games and systems for store credit, get repairs made, take part in tournaments, and even buy your favorite old-school classics! This store has it all and is independently owned and operated ! I was recently able to purchase a used PS3 game, a brand new HDMI cable, and an energy drink, all for under $40!! The deals in this place are simply unbeatable in the area. Other game stores do not compare. So if you are sick of wasting cash on what you could have at a half of the price, then fear no more, Play N Trade in Ormond Beach is your local source for the best games at the best price. Big Wangs in Hollywood, California is a great place to go to watch any sports game. They have televisions on every wall as well as plenty of tables. The best place to sit is at the couch located right in front of the bar and a big screen TV. It is always packed, but I have never not found a seat to sit at for a big game. Dress code is totally Hollywood, and they do check id’s at the door. They have competitive wing eating contests as well as other exciting events. As the name suggests, they are known for their wings. I suggest the “heart attack” which is either French fries or tater tots doused in Alfredo sauce with cheese. My favorite item on the menu is the nachos. They are piled really high with sauce in between all the layers of nachos. Mostly known as a bar, they do provide a wide variety of beer. The 32 ounce cup of beer is only 7.95 and it is a lot of beer. Parking is really difficult there, and if you are going to a big game, then be prepared to pay valet. Since it is in the middle of Hollywood, valet at the location gets full quickly and costs 7.00. Right behind Big Wangs you will find another lot that doesn’t get as packed for 8.00. If you’re just going in to grab a bite, you might get lucky and find a meter around the block. For other places to watch the big game, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.
If you wanted the latest in Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh or Warhammer in the Puyallup area, you might find it at Game On inside the Southill Mall. They play host to a maelstrom of tournaments from time to time, and it’s not unusual to stay a bit longer just to talk about the latest fads once you’ve made your purchase. Their prices are just right for what you need, and the staff isn’t rude by any means, which is a testament to their restraint. I have to give it to these guys on a Friday night, this places starts to get packed. You will see competition beckon even experienced Magic: The Gathering players here, and even Star Wars players (which you don’t see often in this state). The only sad thing is that they never have a Warhammer night, even though they have the tables. However, during the week the store has scheduled events you can look forward to, and placing a few bucks here would be a solid investment towards the future of this store. There are very few gaming spots around Puyallup where you can actually play, thus if you are ever around Puyallup give Game On your support. I essentially grew up with the Acadiana Book and Comic Shop. Since I was twelve years old, just about every time I had a little money in my pocket, I would head there to browse what was a veritable treasure trove of comic goodness, all priced for my limited budget. It’s the kind of shop that invites you, through its atmosphere, its layout, its whole feel, to take your time and explore. They still have the longboxes stuffed with carefully bagged and boarded back issues, where you can hunt for that missing piece to your collection. The walls are lined with graphic novels, toys, gaming supplies, art books, anime and manga merchandise, and memorabilia – all the essentials for the comic and sci-fi lover. They also have a great selection of used paperbacks, balancing best sellers and popular titles with some real rarities. Comic shops have come and gone in Lafayette over the years, but the Acadiana Book and Comic Shop has remained a fixture. Teresa Moran, the owner, just plain gets it – she’s a fan herself, and she knows what fans want and how they want to be treated. When I go there now, she often seems like a den mother, overseeing the bunches of pre-teen gamers playing the card game du jour, giving them a safe, fun environment to hang out in. This is a great comic store, and a great place for Lafayette kids to be themselves. Find more great places where you live with globalYP.net, a searchable online directory.
