My family has been going through many hard times including joblessness and sickness. In an attempt to counter money issues I suggested starting a garden utilizing both the half acre of land which we rent, and the space in the garage. I don’t, however, know anything about gardening, so after passing the Grow Shop a couple times I decided to stop in and see what the place was all about. I want to say that while a small shop might turn off some folks, I thought this was a plus. The environment seemed very personalized and quickly put me at ease. There are hydroponic plant centers set up at the center of the place, which was very helpful when the guy assisting me began to explain the system. He answered all my questions in a way that both suggested his knowledge in the subject and his people skills, considering that I am completely green (and not as in a green thumb) when it comes to any kind of agriculture. He told me what to do, at what time of year, and even though the shop specializes in hydroponics he informed me that it might be easier for me to start out with something more traditional. I left the Grow Shop with a stack of free magazines about indoor gardening, and I definitely plan to return when I am ready to set up my own hydroponic system.
