Patrick McKeane’s Pub in south St. Louis is the absolute best spot to hang out on St. Patrick’s Day, or any other day for that matter. It is a terrific neighborhood Irish pub and will be rocking on St. Patrick’s Day. First, the bar itself is awesome. There are usually plenty of tables (might be tough on St. Patty’s Day though). The service is always top-notch as drinks are quickly filled back up. The prices are fair and Happy Hour specials are always the best around. All of your St. Patrick Day favorites will be on hand including Guinness, Smithwicks and shots of Jameson. Second, they have food. Unlike many other places around town you don’t need to leave Patrick Mckeane’s on St. Patrick’s Day. A large menu is on hand with plenty of your St. Patrick’s Day favorite including Irish stew, chips, briscuit sandwiches and an absolutely delicious reuben. I can’t say enough about the reuben as I had two last year on St. Patty’s Day and probably could have had a third. The corned beef is piled high and the swiss cheese is perfect. Lastly, the atmosphere is always fantastic and was unbelievable last year. Live bands sometime perform classic Irish songs, but there’s always the jukebox to keep the party going. Patrick McKeane’s Pub is the place to be on St. Patrick’s Day and I hope to see you there! To find other great places this Holiday, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.
Live music
After going up the street to R.T.O Sullivan’s for their St. Patrick’s Day 2009 bash, I soon realized this place was over crowded and wouldn’t have fun there. My friends and I decided to travel down the road to The Tilted Kilt where I discovered heaven. This place wasn’t so packed that I couldn’t get a beer, but not too slow that I got bored. The Tilted Kilt has an array of draft and bottled beers, including their own Tilted Kilt Signature Draft. In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, they have tons of green beer. There were plenty of places to stand outside, on the patio, and even found a few bar stools to sit on. The bartenders and servers were excellent that night! (Big tips no doubt). I never waited more than a few minutes at the bar waiting to order another drink. The parking lot has beer trucks, bars, a picnic area, and other various tents set-up. There was even live music which helped with the ambiance. Finding parking was not too terrible. It may take a few trips around the parking lot to find a space, but it is well worth it. There was a short line to get in. The bouncer was really nice! I will definitely be returning to The Tilted Kilt this year to have some more St. Patrick’s Day fun in Mesa. Have fun and remember to be safe! To find other great places this Holiday, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.
Salt Hill Pub is by far the best destination for St. Patrick’s Day. With traditional Irish music, plenty of refreshments, and a great menu featuring many Irish dishes – you’d be silly not to be there. The restaurant boasts a wide variety of beers on tap – including Guinness of course and the bartenders are very knowledgeable regarding the drinks that they serve. They can even make the clover in the Guinness foam (just ask them to do it – you’ll see what I mean). The music is good on most nights and especially good on St. Patrick’s Day. Get ready though – there will be a large crowd of people there and there will be a lot of people dancing. It is a lot of fun and a great atmosphere. The bands usually play a lot of traditional Irish music and also some more contemporary fun tunes as well. The food is also very good. They have traditional corned beef and hash, dishes with cabbage, and other delicious traditional foods – as well as some more modern American cuisine if that is what you are into (they have excellent chicken wings as well – they go great with beer). I have not seen green beer at this establishment – but I bet they could do it. To find more great places this Holiday, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.
Irish is not the right word to describe Annie’s Cafe, but it is the first that comes to mind. Easy to find, just walk through the green doored entrance adorned with the green awning. Greeted by the lengthy bar that accommodates several comers and several brews, the bar itself boasts several taps. Whether you’re looking for a draft of Guinness or Harp, some Bailey’s Irish coffee or just some top shelf shots to hold you until seated – or just stay seated here – Annie’s offers it all. Drinking isn’t the only fun to be had at Annie’s. Live acoustic music several evenings, weekend music most of the time, great meals and conversation in this intimate establishment – there’s never a dull moment. Whether you’re 21 and looking for a lass or 51 and enjoying your favorite bottle or glass, there’s nothing to discriminate against anyone’s tastes and pleasures here. While my tastes and desires have changed through the 20 years that I’ve come and gone to Annie’s, Annie’s remains ageless. The restaurant section still offers wonderful pub fare – my favorite is still the Shepherd’s Pie and I wash it down now with a red wine instead of yester year’s beer and a bump. I see those before me at the bar enjoying the feeling of live music as I did – and still do – without any regret or uneasiness since we’re all one little family while under Annie’s house of mirth and merriment. You will find an old-fashioned Irish pub when you arrive at P Wexford’s; the architecture is unique and transports you right into the hillsides of Ireland. The building is decorated with solid wood timbers, flat-cut rock, and evocative stained glass. Inside, you’ll be immersed in Irish culture, icons, and brews, with an assortment of stouts, ales, and ciders available. From the old-fashioned wooden bar to the leaded glass windows, you will experience a time away from time, and have a wonderful evening doing it! You’ll also enjoy live music and events that the pub puts on every night of the week. The menu offers basic American favorites (burgers, “lucky Irish fries,” sandwiches and salads) but they are fresh and nutritious – a welcome feast while you party the night away. For those looking to have an Irish dining experience, you will not be disappointed. There are Bangers and Mash as well as an exquisite Irish Whiskey Steak. The dining areas are open and comfortable, and there is always a lot of laughter emanating from this place. In warmer months, you can take the fun outside to a very nice open-air patio. When it’s cold and raining, you can forget the weather and watch sporting events on their many flat-screen televisions sets. P Wexford’s is just an all-around pleasant experience, and it doesn’t strain your wallet. A memorable spot to visit on Saint Patrick’s day! A few of my friends decided to go to The Phoenix last Saturday night for the first time. I was a little put off by the $5 cover charge at the door, but once inside, the drink specials made up for it! The place is huge!! I advise getting there a little early if you want a good seat, because they started filling up pretty quick. The bartender was super friendly and very fast! She recommended some really good shots! They had, what they called, “The beat the clock special”. Drafts were only 50 cents and rails were only 75 cents! The price went up a little each hour until they were back to $2 drafts and $3 rails. Needless to say, I was happy with the prices. The food was your typical bar food, but they had really good burgers. The prices on food were pretty cheap too. I couldn’t believe how good the band sounded. They have a great sound system in that place. There was a DJ during the band’s breaks and he was entertaining as well. There were a very wide range of customers. I didn’t feel too old or too young and people watching made for a really good time. They have a TON of pool tables in there and at a buck a game, I had to play a few rounds. I wasn’t too sure about going there, because I had heard the staff was rude, but everyone was very nice and really seemed like they were having as good of a time as we were! If you’re in the area, you should drop in there for sure. I know that we will be going back! Stop by globalYP.net for local business listings available online.

Beans in the Belfry in Brunswick, MD is one of the most unique establishments I have had the pleasure of frequenting. The first impression is the unusual setting – a historic church in downtown Brunswick! With stained-glass windows and a balcony in place, Beans in the Belfry is a lovely place to explore while having a bite to eat or visiting with friends over tea. The café is set up casually, with an assortment of comfortable couches, chairs, and benches to suit any visitor. Books abound and wireless Internet is available for those wishing to do work or networking in a relaxed environment. On most nights of the week, there is live music from local and traveling bands of all sorts. Most of the regular musician’s tunes are available on CDs that are sold in the café. It is especially fun to watch the music and occasional dancing from up in the balcony! Children are always delighted to enjoy music and to play with games and dress-up clothes found throughout the place. The most important part of all –food and drinks – leave nothing to be desired! Everything is homemade, from sandwiches to desserts to drinks to homemade chili. The menu includes a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as many different teas, coffees, and specialty drinks. The desserts are scrumptious and usually include such selections as berry pies, brownies, and cheesecakes. Prices are refreshingly affordable for such wonderful food, setting, and company. I always recommend Beans in the Belfry as my favorite place to eat whenever friends and family visit. It is a one-of-kind place that is an absolute must-see. Wild Country is by far the best country music night club in the Collinsville area. I went to Wild Country for the first time a few months ago, and boy, I had such a good time. Admittedly, I am not a big country music enthusiast (however, I will listen to it from time to time on occasion), but I really like to dance (or at least try!) so I went with a few of my friend a few months ago. From the moment you walk in you can feel the energy of this place. The night I went, there was a live band playing, and lots of people out on the dance floor (I believe they have a live band on Friday and Saturday nights). In addition to the great atmosphere, the drinks were relatively cheap. One thing you should know before you go to Wild Country is that this place is a country line dancing club. Everyone on the dance floor is doing it. Due to the cheap drinks I eventually got out there and gave it a go. All of the people out there were very friendly and willing to teach me a thing or two about line dancing. All in all, I had an amazing time there and highly recommend it to anyone! Even if you’re not a big country music fan like I am. Anyone can figure out globalYP.net, a user friendly online directory.

Providing both entertainment and steak, Downtown Kitchen in Canton, GA is a blast. A great number of clientele require that you check in to the waiting list upon arriving, unless you make reservations ahead of time. It does not bother me to have to wait to be seated at this place, however. I have never had to wait longer than forty-five minutes, and you may be thinking that is a long time to be waiting around, but the entertainment makes you forget all about the time. Downtown Kitchen has two levels, the main dining floor and the upstairs lounge, which has a small stage featuring local artists. Once you have checked in, you will be pointed to the elevator that takes you to the upstairs lounge. It is a great area to order appetizers, drinks and listen to the live music. With the lights dimmed to set the mood, this place sets the tone just right. Before you know it, you will be summoned to your table where the menu provides a wide range of items. Depending on your taste or price range, I am sure you will find a great entree. Downtown Kitchen, however, has The Hanger Steak on their menu that seems to be all the rage for the locals. It is an awesome cut that is marinated in an exquisite sauce, a chef specialty. If you are not there early enough, you are liable to miss out due to the fact that they only marinate so many at a time. From the entertainment, to the service tasty menu items, I give Downtown Kitchen my approval! To find other entertaining restaurants like this, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.
