Are you looking for an action packed night of family fun? If you are, look no further than Centerfield Park in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Centerfield has it all for all ages and all skill levels. Activities include batting cages, two miniature golf courses, bumper boats, go-karts, and video games. Oh, and I forgot to mention a great snack stand. Centerfield is just a short drive from St. Louis, Missouri and located just minutes from a major interstate. Growing up, I remember coming to Centerfield with my parents and brother and sister. Back then the park consisted of miniature golf, batting cages, and an arcade. We could spend all night challenging one another on the golf course trying to make a hole-in-one or playing in the batting cages trying to win a free token. The park has grown over the years. The golf course has been redone and includes a beautiful waterfall, bridge, and 36 challenging holes. You can have your pick of the two courses so you can look forward to a different experience when you return. The bumper boats are always a laugh and thoroughly refreshing on a warm summer night. The go-karts are fun and a great way to stir up a little friendly competition. Whether practicing for a baseball tournament or wanting to take it easy in the slow-pitch cage, the batting cages offer a great challenge. And finally finishing off the night with a snack and a video game is always just right. Just click on over to globalYP.net and start searching for local business listings available online.

The Wow Zone is a very enjoyable place for people of all ages, especially those with kids. It includes a laser tag arena that is made up of two levels, has blacklights as the only light source, and has plenty of obstacles to hide behind and shoot around. Outside of that area is a classic arcade full of many different classic games and new games. Games like Skeeball and Basketball shoot are classic while DDR and Deal or No Deal represent the more modern games that have been invented and produced. Also, off of the arcade, is a glow in the dark miniature golf area! This area is nice because it is inside, is fairly large, and everything glows in the dark, making it a one of a kind experience for the miniature golf lover. One of the best features of the Wow Zone is the bowling lanes. There are public bowling lanes open at any time, and then there are the private lanes. The private lanes are in a separate room from the rest of the activities and are reserved for special parties and company get togethers. Also, for the adults, there is a bar attached to the building, just in case they need an escape from the wild kids running havoc around the rest of the establishment. In today’s tough economic times, it is important to stretch every dollar as far as it can go, especially for non essential items, like recreation. However, as anyone with kids can tell you, sometimes you just need to find something new and different to do with them, in order to keep them entertained. That is why I am glad my wife and I decided to try out Batter Up Batting Range in Bethpage, NY. Not only does it have many batting cages for all speeds and abilities, but it also has a full miniature golf course. Those two activities combine to create a perfect, and perfectly affordable, weekend afternoon for my family. We first discovered this fun little place in early summer, and ended up going there at least once a month through the fall. We would start our time playing the miniature golf courses, and had a lot of fun with their holes, some of which are fun, and some of which are challenging. They really strike a good balance with them. It takes over an hour for us to work our way through the course. The batting cages are also a great value, and we all take turns using the bats and helmets there, and doing our best to swing for the fences. It has done wonders to help me teach both of my children the fundamentals of hitting. The best part is that my entire family can enjoy a great afternoon for a great value. In a place like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, there are miniature golf courses every other block, however, down on King’s Highway, only 4 blocks from the beach, is Mount Atlanticus. Mt. Atlanticus really has something special going for it. The story goes that it originated from a broken off piece of Atlantis, but the locals will tell you it is a renovated department store that has two 18-hole courses taking up three stories that overlook the beach. The two courses have similarities, but the biggest differences are that one has mostly “cave” holes and the other is outside and tends to have more walking because of the length of the holes. What makes this miniature golf course better than others, is the course innovation. Each hole is so unique and fun. One of the interesting innovations is the 19th hole at the end of both courses. They give you an opportunity to win a free life time pass by sinking a rather difficult hole-in-one. The green is a narrow isthmus over water with a hole at the end that, from experience, is very difficult to sink. Very exciting to try, especially when you see the pictures of all the people that have successfully done it! Give Mount Atlanticus a try if you are ever in Myrtle Beach! Portland, OR is renowned for its cruddy weather most of the year. Dreary, drizzly rain makes mini-golf, what would otherwise be a fun light-hearted pastime, a trying episode of wet torture. Luckily, Glowing Greens has come along to completely change the image of mini-golf! When I went, a life-size pirate mannequin greeted me at the entrance; if he could talk, I’m sure he would have told me, “I can tell you arrrrrrhh excited!” For sure, I could already tell it would be a real treat to play mini-golf here! Housed indoors with no windows, Backlights make vivid paintings around the 18-hole course come to life, as well as decorations on the course. There is a vague Halloweenish, haunted housey feel to the designs, but they are not out of place. The establishment will even sell you 3D glasses for a nominal fee, but I would advise against it. The decorations are much more fun without. This is the perfect place to go with a date, or a group of friends, but just keep in mind the holes will go by quite quickly, so you should have other activities planned for your adventure. Luckily, the rest of downtown Portland is within easy access, so that poses no problem. The prices are about on par with a matinee movie, and I think that is pretty reasonable, considering the amount of upkeep they do on this course. It is much cooler than any outdoor mini-golf! GlobalYP.net, an online directory, is much cooler than the phonebook.

Amazing Jake’s, at 1830 East Baseline Rd in Mesa, AZ, is a family fun restaurant. It’s one of my favorite places to take the kids. It is an all you can eat buffet, plus a fun center. The seating areas are fun themed, you can sit in a tropical oasis, a movie theatre (with great kids movies playing), a sports bar with live sporting events on TV, or a country club setting. The dining areas are away from the kids’ games and rides so there isn’t the loud noise factor you get at some other kid pizza restaurants. The food is great. In addition to the unlimited pizza, they have salad, soups, pastas, baked potatoes and desserts. The gaming center is amazing, they have the typical games you can play to earn tickets to trade in for prizes but they also have a bowling alley, rock climbing, lazer tag, bumper cars and miniature golf. There are so many activities for kids of all ages. They also have some small carnival rides including a mini roller coaster. Birthday party rooms are available. The cost is very reasonable and you can get a wrist band that will include everything but bowling, for one low price. This is my kids’ favorite place to go and I don’t mind taking them as it is very adult friendly too. For a user friendly online directory, visit globalYP.net
Monster Mini Golf in Warwick, Rhode Island has 18 holes of awesome, black-light fun! The sets are really detailed and very ‘trippy’ like. My friends and I had an absolutely blast and I plan on going back very soon. The prices for a person are less than ten dollars! Monster Mini Golf’s sets are creepy yet fun and it’s the place to be on a weekend. There are only a few locations around the Massachusetts/Rhode Island area so it could also be a great tourist attraction as well. I have always recommended Monster Mini Golf to people when they ask me what to do when they are bored. Sometimes, it’s so fun that I wish I lived there on the weekends! I went there for my birthday as well as my friend’s and they have great deals and fun Halloween time contests. If you are ever in the area, I suggest that you go here and play a round of mini-golf. No matter where you live in the US you can find local listings online for your neighborhood with globalYP.net, quickly and easily.
Recently Monster Mini Golf opened up a new place in Avon, and some friends and I decided to check it out. First of all, the course is excellent. There are many twists and turns, and plenty to keep you interested. I’ve been to many put put courses before, but none of them have ever made as big of an effort to keep the player involved as Monster Mini Golf. The entire time we played they did trivia randomly over the intercom for prizes. Also, they made sure to ask us how our game was and who was the biggest loser. They then gave a free pass to my friend who lost! Even with all of this though, the most entertaining part about the entire experience were the robots and pictures on the wall. They were all scary monsters that moved and made noise. Even after you are done golfing there is still entertainment to be had. Believe it or not Monster Mini Golf actually has good arcade games. Not the ones you would find at most put put places, but new quality games. It seems that every time I go mini golfing I leave disappointed or underwhelmed, but not this time. Friendly service, an excellent course, and plenty of entertainment is what you’ll find at Monster Mini Golf. What else could you possibly wish for at a golf course? GlobalYP.net is easy to use, convenient and filled with local listings online, what else could you possibly wish for?
