Satisfy Your Music Needs At Amazing Tone Music In Raleigh, NC

amazing tone musicI have been to Amazing Tone Music in Raleigh, NC several times for their regular open mic nights to see what they have. They bring in a nice cadre of performers from all over the Raleigh area who play for nothing and do it well! The supplies offered are pretty standard, but what stands out are the range and offerings of different lessons. They have partnered with amazing musicians from all over the area to provide future musicians with private lessons! The have a small coffee lounge with free wireless Internet, as well! It is a music shop with its own coffee bar! They have nice private lesson rooms and the stage is perfect! They have even wired it to record both sound and tape for later playback of the performers. What a nice addition that you will not find at other music stores in the area. Amazing Tones Music really lives up to its name and is providing a great service for both current and future looking to learn or buy what they need! Forgo the larger chain stores and make the trip to north Raleigh to get your music needs met! I am heading back for another open mic! The Green Street Cafe Caters To A Younger Crowd In Champaign, IL

Arts & Entertainment, Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

The Green Street Café is a nice place for students to go. They have a very friendly atmosphere, which is geared towards making people comfortable. They have two futons and a coffee table that makes sitting there much like sitting in a living room. They have an open mic which is on Thursday nights and one person even sings in French. The band that hosts open mic night is known as EGHAB. They do mostly covers and they are very pleasant to listen to. The bathrooms are well lit and kept very clean. There are many fun arcade games in the bar and they provide hours of entertainment. The only problem with this bar is that it is hard to find because it is well hidden in a strip mall. This bar is never that busy, but it makes enough money to stay open. There is no smoking in the bar, but that does not mean that there is any shortage of smokers outside at any given second. This is a place for people 21 and up so if you are 21 and up and find yourself in the Champaign/Urbana area, stop on by. Stop by globalYP.net and find yellow pages that are online.

In the small town of Fitzwilliam, NH lays a jewel of a tavern that just opened in late summer of last year. It sits within the Fitzwilliam Inn that has reopened as a bed and breakfast. As you approach the center of town, the first thing you will note across the street from the common is this over 200 year old inn that commands your attention with its charm. If for no other reason than to explore this lovely town, you should pop into the Thistle & Crown Tavern that is inside the Fitzwilliam Inn. Try Open Mic Night At Radio Maria In Champaign, IL

Posted by Keri W. on January 18, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

The open mic night on Wednesday evenings is what drew me out to Radio Maria, in Champaign, IL. After a long evening spent at work I would quickly change and head on over to this bar/restaurant to watch wannabe musicians entertain the customers. I usually meet up with a few friends, some who are pretty talented in the music area. It’s always a pleasure to watch them perform. The food at Radio Maria is interesting. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely unique. One time I ordered the feta cheese and bread. I received large chunks of cheese and some bread. I wasn’t exactly sure how to eat it. I love feta and it was good cheese, but there was just so much of it. I had to share it with my friends. Feta is kind of overwhelming to eat by itself so I just nibbled at it after the bread was gone. The lighting is dim and the seats are comfortable. It creates a comfortable atmosphere that any adult would enjoy. Overall I would say Radio Maria is worth checking out. I enjoy spending a few evenings there a month and think I will continue to do so. Enjoy finding new places with globalYP.net, yellow pages that are online.

Waterfall Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Fairmont, WV. We had passed it by many times and kind of forgot about it, but we tried it out for the first time yesterday and were amazed at what they had to offer! It will definitely not be the last time we go back. We plan on making many trips to this restaurant and telling everyone about it. It is very clean. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The food was excellent and everyone with us agreed. They offer a full menu with excellent, affordable prices. They also offer authentic Philly cheese steak, Philly-style hoagies and more. Everything is fresh. The meat is cut fresh daily and the soup is made every day as well. They have appetizers, salads, wings, sandwiches and burgers. Steaks, pasta and seafood are also available. They also use their own family recipes for their food. They have big windows in the dining area that overlook the waterfall outside. Posted by Keri W. on October 28, 2009
Arts & Entertainment / No Comments

cold_towneCold Towne Theater in Austin, Texas is the place to be for hip, fresh comedy and a fun night out. Every weekend the local Cold Towne Theater hosts live stand-up comedy, sketch shows and improvised comedy shows. Shows range from 5 to 15 dollars, and while alcohol is permitted at Cold Towne, they do not sell it on the premises so they encourage patrons to bring their own beer, or other beverage of choice. The theater is still only a few years old, but Austinites have embraced it with many local awards and accolades. It has been awarded “Best in Austin” several years in a row. Cold Towne offers classes in both improv and sketch writing through its conservatory. The classes are inexpensive compared to similar schools in other cities, but the instructors are some of the best trained in the country. The weekend starts early for the Cold Towne Theater. On Thursday they host live improvised comedy by some of Austin’s veteran improv comedy troupes, and then they have a weekly sketch show. On Friday they host house troupes, more sketch comedy, and they even have an open-mic stand-up comedy showcase. On Saturday they do improv shows with special guests, and then the Cold Towne improv troupe will play, preceded by a guest troupe to open the show. Sunday and Monday nights are free shows, usually comprised of a mix-up of more special guests, special improv shows, high school showcases and improv jams. Any central Texas residents looking for a fresh alternative to a night at the movies, or interested in seeing some cutting edge comedy would do well to check out the Cold Towne Theater. Many people who inhabit the neighborhood around this business find themselves not only in there for breakfast in the morning, but end their night here as well. This place has a great selection of menu items to choose from that are made perfectly. If not hungry, it is also a great café to just grab a quick cup of coffee. poes_pubPoe’s Pub in Richmond, Virginia (at 2706 E Main St) was named to honor one of Richmond’s most famous residents – Edgar Allen Poe, who lived in the Shockoe Bottom community, in which Poe’s Pub resides, during some of his more creative years. This little neighborhood watering hole is nothing to look at from the outside, but once you come inside, you will be greeted with a surprisingly large menu of well conceived and deliciously prepared regional food, such as farm-raised catfish, crab cakes, a variety of Virginia barbecue, plus a good selection of vegetarian entrees. Poe’s Pub comes to life at night, when the atmosphere transforms into an eclectic and funky nightclub with the best in live music, including blues, rock, country, alternative, bluegrass, zydeco, jazz, R&B and more. There are also theme events, including “Bikes in the Bottom,” a monthly motorcycle breakfast that is held on the second Sunday of every month. Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the area converge at Poe’s Pub for a morning of good food and on-the-road fellowship. Every Monday is “Texas Poker Night” and “Open Mic” is every Tuesday. Although there are a number of little clubs, restaurants and bars in the historic Shockoe Bottom community, Poe’s Pub has been the number one favorite with native Richmonders and their guests.
