When I started getting into roller skating again, I learned there was a skating rink in my own home town of Madera, CA. I was really excited, so I headed on over there to check it out. Miracle Skate did not disappoint! The skating rink is a really nice size, and the people there are really nice. You can rent skates from them or bring your own, if you have a pair. They offer a cheap skate night (cheapskate, get it?) on Wednesday nights, with a special low price for skaters. They have public skating sessions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for weekend fun with the whole family! They offer both day time and evening hours. You can even host a birthday party there. All the kids, young and old alike, will have a blast skating around the rink to celebrate that special day. Roller skating hearkens back to the days of old, when the whole family went out to skating rink for an evening of family fun. Or how about roller disco? That was fun! Or even roller derby? Not for the faint of heart! So get on out there and create new memories of skating around the rink with your friends and family today! Until Rock N Rollers opened in Avon, IN, I thought skating rinks were going extinct. I probably thought that partly because the one I went to as a kid shut down after a huge fire. The only one left in Indianapolis isn’t located in the safest area. We had only taken our son skating there once when he was younger. Due to the rough crowd we decided not to go anymore. Fortunately, for him, Rock N Rollers opened a couple of years ago. They have security working during all weekend and evening events, which reassures us that our son will be safe. He is a teenager now and enjoys social events with his friends. We have been able to drop him off and discretely introduce ourselves to security. We can leave him there without the anxiety that parents can sometimes feel when the teenager wants to exert independence in a social situation. In addition to excellent security, they are available for parties and regularly host all night skates. He loves to go to the all night skates and hang out with friends. He also enjoys telling us about interactions he has with his friends at the rink. As most parents know, anything that gets a teenager to open up and talk to them is worth every penny and every moment of separation anxiety we may feel as they grow into young adults. Don’t feel anxiety over trying to find something in the phone book. Find local listings online hassle free at globalYP.net.
Roll R Way Family Skating Center (at 940 Vander Ave) is the only roller skating center in York, PA. It is conveniently located across from the ice skating rink. This makes for a great family fun day. Roll R Way Skating offers a snack bar and video games for your entertainment. They also offer lockers to rent to ensure the safety of your personal belonging such as coats, shoes and keys. The skating floor is made of concrete. This does not give as much as a wooden floor when you fall but it provides for a nice smooth stable skating experience. Roll R Way is usually staffed with a referee on the floor to watch for items being dropped or thrown on the floor that could cause a fall hazard. The referees also make sure everyone is skating in the correct direction and that all rules are being followed. Roll R Way Skating Center is designed to support parties. They host personal parties as well as offer birthday party packages. The personal party package is a set rate for a specific amount of time. The birthday party package is $85 for the first eight kids and $8 for each additional child. This includes a slice of pizza, a soda, skate rental and a free pass for all paid party attendees to return another day. The skating rink offers discounted special nights. These nights vary along with their details. On Sundays, they host a family night for $9 for up to 6 people. One of the skating participants must be an adult to qualify for the family night price. They also offer an all dance night on Saturday nights from 8-11 pm. This night is only for dancing, so come prepared to get down. Sometimes it can be hard to find things to go in Enola, Pennsylvania; however, Olympic Skating Center Inc is a great place to take your family for a night out of roller skating. It is very friendly and there are arcade games and food to keep little ones busy after they get a little worn out. Mainly families go here but on the weekend as it gets later, more of the teens start to show up. I have never had any problems with anyone there, everyone seems to be pretty courteous and be careful of the kids and the people who aren’t very good at skating yet. The skating rink is huge and there is ample amount of space for everyone to skate without feeling like your crowded or going to run into anyone. They offer other great amenities too like skating lessons. You don’t have to sign up for a long class or make a commitment to come. You just go whenever you feel like it (on the correct days of course) and that is very convenient. They also offer birthday and private parties for a very reasonable price, and even regular admission is very affordable. There are always events going on, discounts offered, games, prizes, music, you name it. I can’t say a single bad thing about this place.
