If you wanted the latest in Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh or Warhammer in the Puyallup area, you might find it at Game On inside the Southill Mall. They play host to a maelstrom of tournaments from time to time, and it’s not unusual to stay a bit longer just to talk about the latest fads once you’ve made your purchase. Their prices are just right for what you need, and the staff isn’t rude by any means, which is a testament to their restraint. I have to give it to these guys on a Friday night, this places starts to get packed. You will see competition beckon even experienced Magic: The Gathering players here, and even Star Wars players (which you don’t see often in this state). The only sad thing is that they never have a Warhammer night, even though they have the tables. However, during the week the store has scheduled events you can look forward to, and placing a few bucks here would be a solid investment towards the future of this store. Book Jungle in Springfield, Missouri (at 202 N Glenstone Ave), is where I go to find cheap and books that can be difficult to find. The place isn’t very big but it’s very worth visiting, as they really do seem to have all of the books that you can’t find anywhere else. They have RPG books, fantasy, Western, romance, children’s books, and any other type of book you could think of, and all of the books are well organized and divided by genre on the shelves. If you wanted to, you could browse for hours, and you’d definitely find something you like. The books are mostly used, though gently, and you can even go in there to sell your own used books. I seriously have never seen such a small area filled with so many books. Book Jungle’s building isn’t hard to find at all and once you get in there you won’t want to leave again. They have chairs placed around the store for you to sit in and read, with wonderful lighting. I believe they have the cheapest used books in all of Springfield, which is great for me and even better for my wallet. So for a few bucks you’ll be able to get a lot of the books you like, which is always a nice surprise. There’s really very little to do in Crossville, Tennessee except pass through, but for the locals, Blue Aether is one of the best places for relaxed entertainment within 100 miles! Blue Aether is actually a two-part company in that during the day, the owner and a few select staff members repair PCs, rebuild old PC’s, construct new PC’s and work with many local businesses to install and maintain local area networks, and provide the necessary hardware to customize the exact system the client needs. After hours, however, Blue Aether leaves behind the professional endeavors and transforms into late night social hotspot! It’s then that there will be a dozen or two people playing MMORPG, computer games, a whole host of game consoles from Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 down to the original Atari, and table upon tables of players engulfed in the likes of Magic: the Gathering, Pokemon, Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing table games. There are a number of special events, as well, such as all-night events, card tournaments, RPG table tournaments and online contests such as World of Warcraft, Shadowbane and Counterstrike! Blue Aether isn’t just for the experienced, because they’ll welcome you with open arms, or at least a high five, and teach you everything you ever wanted, or perhaps didn’t know that you wanted, to know!
