Molding Creativity At Red Kiln Pottery Gallery in Salt Lake City, UT

red kiln pottery galleryRed Kiln Pottery Gallery is a small pottery studio based in Salt Lake City, UT. The establishment has many pottery wheels and a large selection of clay to choose from. The people are friendly and the atmosphere encourages creativity. The walls are covered with amazing creations from their very own members. Red Kiln offers classes for beginners. If you already know how to throw a pot, you can simply purchase studio time, some clay, and even have unlimited access to the studio with the purchase of a sixty dollar membership. Firing a pot is relatively cheap, costing about five to ten dollars. I have not found any places cheaper than this. If you are a beginner, I strongly recommend taking their classes. The instructors are very friendly, helpful, and have lots of experience. There are not very many pottery studios in Salt Lake City. This is one of the few that offer studio time, minus the instruction for people who already know how to throw clay, but do not want to sit through instruction. Customers can either pay ten dollars an hour of studio time or can purchase a month for sixty dollars, which gives a person unlimited access to the studio. Those enrolled in the classes offered have priority on the pottery wheels. I strongly recommend Red Kiln Pottery Gallery for beginners and professionals. Whether you just pay the entrance fee and walk through, or you choose to take a class or program, there’s something for everybody. Some of the programs for children include Spring Break Camp, Boy and Girl Scout activities, birthday parties and summer camps. These all range in price, but the memories they provide can’t be measured. These classes are educational and fun. The kids won’t even realize that their learning. If you’re on the bigger side of life, consider taking a adult class. There are always different classes going on throughout the year. One of the favorites is the non-fiction book club. Here, adults 18+ discuss, debate, and argue over books concerning the natural world. If reading isn’t your thing, consider the science movie night. Once a month, there is a free movie screening and discussion on the movie. Visiting the Museum of Natural History is a no-brainer. It’s an affordable, fun way to learn no matter what your age. Make Valentine’s Day Classy With Gourmandise Bakery In SLC, UT

Eating & Drinking Places, Valentine's Day / No Comments

Gourmandise BakeryValentine’s Day requires something special with that special someone. In downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, Gourmandise  is the perfect bakery to feel that romantic atmosphere. The first time I went was with a group of friends; we were hungry and we decided to try something new. As soon as we walked in, we knew we had made the right choice. Up at the counter is a glass display of all their desserts. In addition to how good everything looked, it also looked like various pieces of art. There were little cakes with music symbols decorated on them and tarts that had strawberries and kiwis adorned in intricate designs. Don’t let the name fool you; Gourmandise has not only award-winning European baked goods, but also normal restaurant-type food. Its ambiance is also spectacular with its classy-looking furniture and lighting, perfect for an ideal date with your ideal person. My friends and I were trying to think of the perfect place to go to eat for our group date this Valentine’s Day. That was when we remembered how much we loved Gourmandise and the perfect food. I highly recommend it for all couples, whether it be just as friends or something more. To find other great places in your area, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.

Whether you need to host a birthday party or you’re just out on a Friday night, make sure Hire’s is on your radar. It has a huge selection of burgers and sandwiches. cotreAt Cookietree, eating a cookie is more than just yummy, it’s an experience. Their soft, wholesale cookies will make anybody’s day. These cookies and brownies are made with care, and are created under the highest of standards. According to the website, they preform more than 750 quality checks a day! Their popularity has spread across the globe. Cookietree now delivers on four major continents. I was first introduced to Cookietree years ago, at my junior high. The “mega-bite” bite cookies were almost like a succulent piece of heaven. It was really a highlight of my growing-up years. They now offer cookies in a variety of flavors including: Snickerdoodle, White Chunk Macadamia, Raisin Oatmeal, Dark Chocolate Chunk, and Milk Chocolate Chunk. Siegfried’s Delicatessen In Salt Lake City, UT Has Delightful German Food

Posted by Keri W. on October 08, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places, Retail Stores / No Comments

siegfriedSiegfried’s Delicatessen is located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah in a newer and easy to find location, right near Temple Square. The majority of the employees are German, and the atmosphere is more German than anywhere else you’ll find in the area. It is a deli, and you just go right up to the counter and order your food cafeteria style. Siegfried’s offers Wiener schnitzel, bratwurst, chicken, custom made sandwiches, hot and cold potato salads, red cabbage, spaetzle, cucumber salad, and a number of other traditional options. The prices are quite reasonable, with the most expensive meals being only $8 or $9. Imported beverages are also available. Seating is available both inside and outside in a nice but casual patio area. In addition to the food, they also have a large selection of imported German products, including chocolate, soups, cooking ingredients, and an entire meat/sausage counter. They also sell freshly baked black bread and other varieties of baked goods. While the prices on the imported foods are a bit more expensive, they are after all imported and can easily satisfy a craving for some food you are missing! My family highly recommends Siegfried’s Delicatessen for their wonderful and *real* German food, great prices, and unique atmosphere. For a wonderful online directory, check out globalYP.net.

You Can’t Go Wrong With A Drink From Bevalo In Salt Lake City, UT

Posted by Keri W. on September 03, 2009
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

bevaloBevalo is a great little coffee shop with a wonderful, open design, rich hardwood floors, a leather couch, fantastic art displays, and live music events during Salt Lake City’s Gallery Stroll events. Since I’m a five minute walk from Bevalo (at 123 East 200 South in Salt Lake City, UT) now, I’m thinking I’ll make it my home away from home – a great place to go make blog posts and edit nightlife photos on the laptop. There’s a lot to love about this place, but my favorite feature is that the owners are passionate about coffee. These guys know what’s up! Today we had a nice conversation about Kona coffee – I got addicted to the stuff when I was living in Hawaii, where Kona coffee is in plentiful supply. I’m not a coffee expert by any means, but I love a great medium roast cup of Kona – usually with chocolate. I’m expanding my horizons here, though. Today I was served a refreshing iced cup of vanilla and almond shakerato, (organic milk foam, ice, espresso, and a perfect blend of spices for $3.75). It was just what I need after the five minute trek in the sun from the apartment in the Avenues. Bevalo also serves a delicious Mayan Shakerato, along with Mayan cookies( chocolate, espresso, and just a hint of peppery kick). Delicious! Dying to find more places like Bevalo?
