Firefly Coffee House is a local favorite in the Ft. Wayne area. It is about two hours north of Indianapolis, Indiana. Directly next door is a great health food store. By the front door, is a really unique statue of an animal. This gives a funky vibe to the coffee shop before you even step into it. They also have free wireless. All types of people go here as well as all people of all ages. There is almost always someone there who is studying for something. The colors are warm inside, which gives it a cozy feel. They have some nights where someone performs through poetry reading or singing. Their service is great. It is efficient and friendly. They definitely remember the regulars, but treat everyone fairly. They roast Crazy Sister’s Coffee. This coffee has been certified in the areas of organic and fair trade. The espresso is strong yet fine. They offer house coffees that you can order as a bottomless cup. They offer soy and additional flavors as well. They make their own whipped cream, and it is the best homemade whipped cream for coffee drinks that I have ever had! The smoothies are amazing. They have fun names for all of them and they have nutritional supplements added to them to give them a healthy kick. Try working out and then treat yourself to this or just drink one as you are enjoying the coffee shop environment, you won’t regret your tasty treat. Corte Cafe is nestled in an unusual part of town for a standard pizza joint. It’s right on the border of where the city hall area meets the civic center area, but the patronage doesn’t really reflect this. You’ll find yourself eating around the same kind of normal, working people you would be around in almost any other pizzeria in the city. The fries are also worth trying here, as others have discovered. Parking can be very tough in this area so it’s best to walk, ride, or take the subway to get here before continuing your day. The pizza cooks are friendly and will usually oblige special requests. Breakfast here is served with a bevy of drink possibilities. If you’re not interested in a smoothie, there are huge coolers full of drinks to choose from. You can get a classic New York Slice here for less than 3 dollars, which is becoming harder and harder to find. If you’re looking for a great, cheap mid day rest stop while exploring downtown Manhattan and city hall, Corte Cafe is for you. They also offer delivery but they sometimes have trouble with Chinatown addresses. They are generally most busy during the lunch hour, which is typical of most downtown eateries. In the quiet Northeast Los Angeles, CA neighborhood of Eagle Rock, there is an acknowledged area known as the center; many restaurants and trendy boutiques reside in this area which stretches along the streets Colorado Boulevard and Eagle Rock Boulevard. However, nestled in a more residential part of Eagle Rock at 4808 Townsend Ave is a relatively young business which is not afraid to compete with the establishments in the more popular spots: The Eagle’s Landing Coffee House. This coffee shop, affectionately known as simply ‘The Eagle’s Landing,’ is a small cozy hang out spot catered towards the younger residents of Eagle Rock. In fact, half the proceeds go towards the local teen center which shares the same building. At ‘The Eagle’s Landing’ one can expect requisite drinks and pastries such as ice blended mocha and blueberry coffee cake. There are also fresh fruit smoothies and simpler items such as bean and cheese burritos and ice cream. There’s a wide variety of snacks and quick fixes to cater to the high school students mere blocks away studying at Eagle Rock High School and the slightly further Occidental College students. It’s a warm welcome and an unchained coffee shop, truly a gem in this day and age. Due to its unique location, though it is mainly for youngsters, the hours allows a cross section of locals depending on the time of day; from kids rushing to school picking up a snack, to more established community members between 9AM and 12PM getting their regulars, to the ins and outs of everyone in between. Eagle’s Landing is really a nice place for the local community. Find more places in your community with globalYP.net, yellow pages that are online.
There are lots of places to get a good blended juice out there. A certain chain has made sure that almost any city in the world has some solid juice drinks for thirsty people who want more than a soda. But honestly, people who only go there are missing out, because there really is nothing that can compare to the Santa Barbara based chain Blenders in the Grass. Blenders in the Grass is one of the most impressive blended drinks companies in the world. Honestly, these aren’t just meals, these are amazing meals. There is a reason why this is one of the most popular chains in the Central Coast. I feel like there’s a good chance that this place is going to spread nationally, because they’re so much better than anywhere else I’ve tried. My favorite drink is the Blue Banana, which combines my two favorite fruits, along with ice cream, to make maybe my favorite drink in the world. Another great thing about this place is that they give you free supplements to put in your drinks. Not only is a good drink, but you can make it extremely healthy too. This place really knows how to offer something perfect for a thirsty Californian like me. GlobalYP.net offers local directory listings online for a reader like you.
Backyard Bowls is one of the best additions to downtown in many years. With the recent acai craze, people can’t get enough of this delicious berry that has been dubbed a “blueberry on steroids.” Backyard Bowls has a wide variety of snack options, from smoothies to fruit juice – but this isn’t just another smoothie shop, because of their amazing bowls. There are all sorts of bowls to choose from, each packed with healthy natural ingredients and assorted with a wide variety of flavors. My personal favorite is called the Green Bowl, which blends spinach right into the acai and is topped with honey and ginger. I love walking there from the beach and being full until dinner. They have delicious granola, yogurt, and whole fresh fruit. The staff is always friendly and takes the time to make each order special and perfectly wonderful. The shop itself is adorable and tucked away off the main street so it’s not usually very crowded. When you place your order, they give you a cute spoon with a number on it, and you can hear the train in the distance and go outside and see the ocean. I have made Backyard Bowls a weekly traditional stop, and I still haven’t tasted everything on the menu. I just can’t say enough good things about the wonderful taste it leaves in my mouth! The best guiltless snack ever invented. For the best online directory visit globalYP.net.
I was waiting one day to go to the dentist and I found the greatest coffee shop in Ocala, FL. I go there every time I have a dentist appointment now, which is probably counterproductive, but Chelsea Coffee Co’s mint chocolate chip smoothie is worth it. I like it too much I haven’t tried their other delicious looking beverages. You can get many different flavors added to your coffee and there have to be at least 15 different flavors of smoothies on the menu. They also have tea and other types of beverages. If you’re peckish, you can also get a quick healthy sandwich with chips and a nice, crunchy pickle. The people that work there are so friendly, I feel like I have known them forever and I’ve only been there 3 times. They have reading materials for those who are alone and want to be entertained while they enjoy their coffee and nice comfortable chairs for those just want to relax. I highly recommend stopping at the Chelsea Coffee Co. the next time you are waiting for the dentist or just driving by. It is right across from the Publix at 3217 E Silver Springs Boulevard. I can’t wait to get another cavity to go get coffee or a smoothie before I go to the dentist. If you can’t wait to find new places to explore where you live, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.
Liquid Fusion is a really cool and unique business in Northbrook. I love their bubble tea. In case you didn’t know what that is, it’s an Asian smoothie which comes in a ton of different flavors. Normally they come with tapioca bubbles or little jellies, which I personally prefer. It has a really cool interior, and it offers free wifi, which makes it a really awesome place to hang out or even do homework. All of my friends go their as often as they can, it’s really a lot cooler than starbucks or an ice cream place like Baskin Robbins. I even went their recently for a business meeting which shows how versatile it really is. My favorite flavor is strawberry peach, but sometimes I’ll get straw berry kiwi. I’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating that there is a humongous variety with some really odd fruits. Even the adventurous eater will be stumped when they visit liquid fusion and see its giant board listing all of their flavors. It is very difficult to find though, and the parking lot is really small because it shares it with other stores in its strip mall. I’m craving bubble tea just thinking about Liquid Fusion!
