I recently moved to a new area of Rocklin, CA and received a pair of sweat pants for Christmas that were too long for me. Vali’s Alterations and Cleaners is right down the street from my house at 5060 Rocklin Blvd, so I stopped by there and asked them how much it would be to hem my pants 6 inches. The lady working told me it would be ten dollars, which seemed reasonable so I brought them in. A different lady was working this time, and when I came up to the counter, she looked from me to the pants, asked me how much shorter I needed them, and proceeded to tell me to sit down and wait while she finished. It only took her about 15 minutes and she didn’t charge me a dime. She said she saw me walking past the store to the college next door every day and recognized me. The people that run this store are very friendly and very generous. They also provide services like fitting wedding dresses and dry cleaning. I have brought a few of my jackets there to be dry cleaned, and never once have they screwed anything up. I have also returned to get a few other pairs of pants hemmed. I am very satisfied with their work. The employees there know what they’re doing and will try their very hardest to please you. I would recommend them if you live in the area. When I was looking for a place to do a few alterations on an outfit, this was the place that caught my attention. It is known as Designs By Rachele. This is a unique place and is not your ordinary tailor or alterations stop by any means. There is a little knick-knack store inside that consumes the entire floor. There are country decorations as well as more modern and contemporary ones. They have items with an old rustic look and many are handmade. They have something for every home’s décor. While being treated like a friend by the employees, I browsed the store while the alterations were being made. When the alterations were complete I was charged a very small fee and was told that if after wearing the outfit I noticed any issues to bring it back and they would be taken care of immediately. The outfit has been worn many times and I have not had any problems. After one fitting and a short wait the outfit fits perfectly and you can’t even tell there were alterations made! While I was waiting I noticed several pieces of art work from wreaths to signs to candles and such. There were so many different decorating styles. It was a great place to find an inspirational piece to decorate my kitchen and bedroom from. The knick-knacks were even reasonably priced and made of good quality. The service was exceptional and I am now a regular browser of their store. Browse local business listings online at globalYP.net.
Kim’s Alterations will not disappoint you. The nice lady who I have dealt with there, who I assume is Kim, does high-quality work. Finding a trusted person or shop to do your hemming or other alterations is very important, since a bad job can ruin expensive or unique clothing items. You have nothing to fear with Kim’s. At first I went there because I saw some positive reviews online. The location is a little far away from the university campus, but it is definitely worth the trip. My first time to Kim’s Alterations, I brought three pairs of jeans around 4pm. I needed one of them done that same day, if at all possible, for a date I had the following day. Kim was glad to do a rush job, even though I had not previously been a customer. She is also interested in the customer. When I was explaining the type of hemming that I needed to be done, she took notice of the hem job already done on the pants that I was wearing, and inquired about where it was done, and explained a better way to do it. This is an example of the kind of personal service you will find at Kim’s Alterations. I left my number and Kim called around an hour later. To my surprise and delight, she had completed all three pairs to my exact specifications within the hour. Of course, it is important to tip appropriately for such excellent service. Kim was extremely appreciative. I would highly recommend using the shop Kim’s Alterations. It is a little small, but that does not affect the quality of the work performed there. As a young professional, I have to wear a suit and tie to work almost every day, which meant when I started my current job I need to find a dry cleaner in my neighborhood that was not only reasonably priced, but also extremely reliable. After speaking to some of my neighbors, I decided to try out Main Street Cleaners, in Farmingdale, NY, and have been extremely happy with my choice. The owner of the business can almost always be found working behind the counter, and interacting with his customers. He is always friendly, and knows his business incredibly well. As soon as I walk in, I do not even have to give him my ticket, because he is already moving the rack of clothes in order to pull my clothing off from memory. In addition to his dry cleaning services, he also has hired a tailor that does adjustments to existing clothing. I usually have to take advantage of this service in order to take up my inseam. They have also done a great job repairing rips and tears along the seams, all at a price that would be a fraction of replacing the pants. The full line of dry cleaning and tailoring services make Main Street Cleaners a great place for all of your professional cleaning needs. As a business professional, I have to make sure that my suits are always freshly cleaned and my shirts nicely pressed, and since I am also very busy, I am glad that Classy Touch Dry Cleaners is right down the block in Farmingdale, NY. The owner does an excellent job in getting the garments finished quickly and affordably, both very important in these tough economic times. There is a certain amount of trust that must exist between a customer and their dry cleaner, more than many other service businesses. You have to trust your dry cleaner to not only clean your clothes, but to get them done on time, and not to lose them. Many people on my block use Classy Touch, and no one has ever had a problem with them of any kind. That is very important, especially when you are expecting to wear a certain suit during an important meeting; you need to trust that it will be ready when it is supposed to be. Classy Touch is also very affordable, and despite a decrease in my pay this year, it is no burden to go there and get all of my professional attire cleaned and pressed each week. In addition to their dry cleaning services, their tailoring services are also very affordable, and I use it all the time to repair damage to my clothing, making Classy Touch a full service operation. The Term Jim Dandy was first used to depict an admirable person. While Jim Dandy Cleaners may not be that old, it has been a local fixture of dry cleaning services for over 60 years. I moved to Wantagh, NY in 1969 and Jim Dandy was always our cleaner. The store has undergone substantial renovations since then. As always, as a business person, this cleaner has if need it same day dry cleaning services with no additional charges weekdays if you bring the clothes in by 1pm. Obviously I don’t do it for everything but certainly in pinch it’s nice to know they have it. They also do laundry and after vacations we often bring over all the clothes to have Jim Dandy do the laundry and give us a head start after a long trip. They do cleaning but also tailoring on site. Although tailoring is included with suits I have purchased, like many people I have changed sizes over time, gotten tears in pants and suit jacket pockets and lost the hems on pants. Jim Dandy has the services to repair them and then clean the clothes to extend their useful life.
