The Highline Athletic Club – Everything A Gym Lover Needs In Burien, WA

Personal Care & Services / No Comments

Highline Athletic ClubThe Highline Athletic Club is a great place for people to work out. They have tons of ammenities that are available to you. It’s slightly pricy, but like my dad always says, “You get what you pay for”. They have a great indoor pool with different water exercise classes. Also, in the pool area is a hot tub, a dry sauna and a wet sauna. Personally, wet saunas are hard to breathe in and a dry sauna scorches my behind! When you walk in you can see a full board of names and pictures of the employees and what they do; that way you can pick the teacher you want for classes. They offer various amounts of classes such as cycling, water aerobics, and dancing. There’s a machine for every single muscle you can exercise, guaranteed! Beyond the machines you’ll find a gym with pickle ball courts and a basketball court. On the outer rim of the gym you’ll find a room for spinning, a room for kids and boxing, a room for tennis and many other things! Above that they have a track you can run around, a stretching room and some empty rooms in case you need some extra space to yourself. What I like about the gym is I was always curious about some classes, but never had the guts to ask. The way they built the gym, you can see into the lower rooms from the upper track. One day I walked around the track and looked at all the classes I wanted to take. I would recommend this gym – go join today! Huffman Boulevard Park Is Perfect For A Picnic In Jacksonville, FL

Posted by Keri W. on December 16, 2009
Sports & Recreation / No Comments

Huffman Boulevard Park is a very new, spacious park located near Beach Boulevard and Alden Road at 2775 Huffman Blvd in Jacksonville, FL. There is something for everyone at this park, including a playground with many slides and swings, a basketball court, a soccer field, tennis courts, a very large paved trail, and even a skateboarding area. The park has a wonderful layout, enclosed by the nature trail. Often times I like to run with a group of friends on the trail for a good workout. The people here are very friendly, and often, if you ask, are up for a good challenge in tennis or basketball. There are also bathrooms and water fountains provided, just in case. On a sunny, warm day a picnic here would be phenomenal, as there are picnic tables and a barbeque grill provided. The parking lot is adequate, but parking is never a huge problem because there is parking nearby when the main lot is full. I love how spacious the park is, there is room to breathe! If you want to enjoy some alone time no one will bother you, and if you are looking for some community bonding you can find that also. There is so much to do here and it is beautiful. The park is also well maintained by the city, I often see city workers cutting the grass and collecting trash whenever I drive by. This park is a great addition to the neighborhood as it gives families an opportunity to go outside and play instead of being cooped up playing video games. These sessions offer up a plethora of games and fun to help the kids develop a love for the game of tennis. And it’s not just about the kids! Make Wickham Park In Manchester, CT Part Of Your Outdoor Experience

Posted by Keri W. on September 21, 2009
Sports & Recreation / No Comments

wickhamWickham Park, located in Manchester, Connecticut is a very large park that’s popular with both locals and tourists. Sprawling on well over a hundred acres, Wickham Park has many amenities. Multiple volleyball courts, basketball courts, and tennis courts are located on the South side. To the North, there is a large sledding hill. This hill attracts the young and old from as far away as Glastonbury. Scattered throughout the park are picnic tables, pagodas, and grills. Larger pagodas make Wickham Park an ideal destination for corporate events, school reunions, and other events of that nature. Seasonally, Wickham Park is home to many trails and loops that act as hiking trails in the summer months and cross-country paths come winter. Trails wind in and out of the woods. Some of these trails are suitable for mountain bike riding, and trail maps can be printed out online. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife. Aside from the ubiquitous birds, one can spot beavers, squirrels, deer, chipmunks, hedgehogs, and other unusual wildlife. Reptilian animals reside in nearly all of the park’s numerous ponds. Science teachers often use the park as a hands-on introduction to the biodiversity of the Eastern United States. Come lunchtime, there are also many grass pastures and rocks with views that provide a perfect area for a picnic. This kind of activity is more popular for families and young couples and can be part of a great day spent bonding with special people. The Red Apple Inn And Country Club Has It All In Herber Springs, AR

red_appleThe Red Apple Inn and Country Club in Heber Springs, Arkansas (at 1000 Club Rd) features an eighteen hole golf course, two swimming pools, tennis courts, and a fitness center. It is located near Greers Ferry Lake in the foothills of the Ozarks. The lake and nearby Little Red River are excellent fishing locations for walleye, bass, and trout fishing. The rooms range from ordinary, but upscale rooms, to suites to nearby condos appropriate for large families. There is also the Stoneflower House, which was designed by architect Fay Jones, and it includes a thirty foot deck extending into the trees toward the lake shore. The rooms are beautifully decorated and many feature fireplaces, balconies or decks, and beautiful stonework. The menu is fairly standard with some good seafood and some good southern cooking. While the menu may not be gourmet, the food itself is excellent. The views from the dining room over the lake are beautiful, and the service is friendly and competent. They require “resort casual” in the dining room and on the golf course, meaning dress and collared shirts for men, and similar for women. Tank tops, swim suits, board shorts, baseball caps, and jeans are not allowed. Since the Inn is located in a dry county, the alcohol served in the dining room is limited and you must be staying at the Inn to purchase drinks, but there’s plenty to do without drinking. There’s plenty more to explore where you live, so be sure to visit globalYP.net, local directory listings available online.
