Tappin Book Mine, situated seven blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, is a unique shop specializing in the resale of quality used books. The shop has books ranging in all genres, from fiction all the way to travel and cooking books. Originating in 1975, this shop also carries many rare and out of print books as well. I have always found that when visiting used bookstores they often have only a few new books in a sea of old, run-downed books that no one seems to want. However, I found this to not be the case at Tappin. I was pleasantly surprised to find many authors and titles still on the New York Times Bestseller list. If you are looking to resell books from your own collection they also have a “buy back” program. Just bring your books in anytime during business hours. The owner will take a look at what you have and give you a price of what they are worth. So whether you want to find a book that big-chain book retailers no longer print, get that new release for the fraction of the cost, or downsize your own library, Tappin Book Mine is definitely the place to be. If you want a great online directory, globalYP.net is the place to be.
Used bookstore
I am a big fan of books. I do love purchasing a new book, because I’m the first person to read that particular copy. I’m the first one to crack the binding, to bend the pages, to highlight passages if I choose to do so. On the other side of the coin, there is something intriguing about a used book. Who read this book before me? What passages or words did they feel was important? What’s the story behind this book? This is why I LOVE a great little bookstore in Novi, Michigan, called Read It Again Books. Upon my first trip to this bookstore, I fell in love with it immediately. It’s kinda small, but overflowing with collectibles, used books, and even new books. If the store doesn’t have what you want in stock, they will happily special order it for you. The used books are brimming with history, and there is plenty of seating to enjoy whatever book or books you’ve selected. The staff is genuine and helpful, and the corporate feeling you get when you walk into a chain bookstore is definitely missing from this store, and that’s a good thing. This is the kind of bookstore you could get lost in for hours at a time, and for once I don’t mind being lost. I highly recommend Read It Again Books! Want to find more great businesses in your area?
