No matter if you want a first edition leather bound book of Peter Pan, a cheap copy of Bridget Jone’s Diary, or a Noam Chomsky linguistic text, you will find it at Yesterday’s Books. The selection is wonderful! Chances are you’ll find any book you’re looking for here, which is not necessarily the case with most used book stores. In addition to the great books you’ll find, the best part of this bookstore is the layout. Almost labyrinth-like in construction, the inlets and bends built into the shelves make the store seem endless. I’ve spent hours here just browsing the aisles. When you walk in, be sure to check out the books behind the glass cases- you’ll find some of the most rare and beautifully bound (not to mention OLD) books you have ever seen. The people who work here are very helpful and will help you find whatever it is you’re looking for. Check their website to see what specialties they are currently selling. Since they do focus somewhat on special books, this is the first resource you should contact when searching for the obscure and rare. I love this place with all my heart and recommend it to anybody who loves books. To find other great places in your area, visit globalYP.net, a local online directory.
The Mustard Seed in Bethesda is a very neat place to check out. They buy lightly used designer clothing from individuals and sell it in their shop. You can stop by to drop off some of your old clothes, shoes, or jewelry and get some money (by appointment) or you can go and browse for a new look! The prices are reasonable and the clothes are nice. They are not completely worn out or out of fashion and it is definitely better than throwing away the clothes you don’t want! They give you a pretty fair price when dropping things off. I have bought numerous items from them, including a great pair of shoes and a gorgeous dress for a New Years party I was going to! In fact the dress still had tags on it and was only eighteen dollars! What a Steal! The Mustard Seed is definitely worth checking out even if you aren’t in the market for any new clothes. I’m sure you can find something old you no longer want or get together even five dollars to spend on some cool new jewelry. Just know that once you walk in it will be hard to leave with just one item! Everything at the store is fun and fashionable. Everything you’re looking for you can find faster with globalYP.net, online local listings.
The Red Hat Thrift Store is a wonderful place for cheap, quality clothes in good condition. All the sales profits go to support the Emergency Support Shelter for Women and Parent’s Place (a safe place for parents and children of all ages). All the clothes are in good condition, some are even new. The Red Hat store contains mostly women’s and children’s clothes, but they also have men’s clothes, bedding, and kitchen/home products. The kitchen and home products are always in good shape and at a wonderful price. The bedding is usually in short supply, but in good shape too. They also carry a small supply of movies ranging in rating. The selection on women’s and children’s clothes is wonderful. They have all sizes and colors. It’s almost like shopping in a normal store. I shop at the Red Hat store quite often. My 3 year old daughter loves to shop there too. I can go in with $20 and leave with an outfit or two for myself and four or five for my daughter. I love to shop at the Red Hat Store because I get so much for so little money and I am helping good causes that have helped me in my times of need. I Have been shopping for clothes at No Relation in New York City, NY for several years now. With a little bit of luck and skill, you can find great vintage clothes without spending very much money. Most of the times I have been here I have managed to spend just a bit, sometimes as little as five dollars for a cool vintage t-shirt. A good pair of jeans here can be hard to find and cost a bit more, but it is worth checking out before hitting up other very expensive stores in the area. I first discovered No Relation a few years ago when I was walking around the neighborhood and was struck by the window display, which definitely featured some of their more prized vintage wear. This is certainly a theme here. You will notice some of their more valued items, such as vintage t-shirts that are usually hard to come by. These items are usually kept above the counter and have steeper price tags. That said, you could still find almost anything you need here for a very low price. You just might have to look for a while. I would recommend going on a Monday or Tuesday, when crowds are light and you can spend all the time you need to browse their very large selection. They also carry shoes, which are in pretty good condition, considering some of them have been used before. It is good to note that the previous owners obviously took good care of their shoes. Good luck shopping here! You are bound to find some great deals if you check out No Relation! To find more vintage shops like this one, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.
Kid to Kid is a great store to buy and sell used and new children’s items. The store is large, and has a big variety of items. They sell baby and children’s clothes, toys, books, furnishings and equipment as well as maternity items for moms. I love how they have a small enclosed area where your small children can play safely while you shop. It makes browsing very enjoyable when you don’t have to worry about fussy, bored kids. The prices are very reasonable and much lower than you would pay at retail. The merchandise is extremely well organized and well spaced, so you don’t have to struggle to look at the items. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. They do a great job of spotlighting cute outfits so you can always find an adorable, complete outfit right away. I think for resale stores, this one does a really good job of only taking high quality, well cared for items. They also have a small area for boutique items, like hair bows and jewelry, which make it nice to accessorize any new outfits you might find. You can also sell your items, for cash or store credit, making shopping even more affordable. Save time with globalYP.net, online yellow pages.

Book Jungle in Springfield, Missouri (at 202 N Glenstone Ave), is where I go to find cheap and books that can be difficult to find. The place isn’t very big but it’s very worth visiting, as they really do seem to have all of the books that you can’t find anywhere else. They have RPG books, fantasy, Western, romance, children’s books, and any other type of book you could think of, and all of the books are well organized and divided by genre on the shelves. If you wanted to, you could browse for hours, and you’d definitely find something you like. The books are mostly used, though gently, and you can even go in there to sell your own used books. I seriously have never seen such a small area filled with so many books. Book Jungle’s building isn’t hard to find at all and once you get in there you won’t want to leave again. They have chairs placed around the store for you to sit in and read, with wonderful lighting. I believe they have the cheapest used books in all of Springfield, which is great for me and even better for my wallet. So for a few bucks you’ll be able to get a lot of the books you like, which is always a nice surprise. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to use globalYP.net, local directory listings that are online.
One day while driving around Cozad, Nebraska my children and I discovered Cozad Thrift Store. The store is located in the heart of downtown Cozad between the town’s bar and hair salon. On our first visit we were surprised at how cheap everything was. Almost all children’s clothing cost only fifty cents, except for some items that still weren’t more than a dollar. The adult jeans were only one dollar and most blouses, t-shirts and sweaters cost only fifty cents. Everything was surprisingly reasonably priced. We had so much fun there. While I mostly concentrated on finding clothing and household items for my family, my two daughters had a ball looking through all the toys. It felt like being on a treasure hunt. Our arms quickly filled up with all kinds of stuff. We had so much that I started looking for a shopping basket. Unfortunately they did not have one, but the ladies who worked there provided me with an empty cardboard box. After about an hour and a half we were finally ready to go to the cash register and pay for our merchandise. I ended up with five shopping bags full of all kinds of used stuff in super condition for around twenty five dollars. I found out that the store is run by a church and is a nonprofit organization, with all of the clothing and other items being donated by local residents. Here it is a few years later and my daughters and I still visit the store about once a month to shop for bargains and donate clothing that we do not want or need anymore. Today’s economy makes it difficult to afford even the most essential items, including clothes. When you take into account how fast kids grow, and how quickly they go through the things in their closet, it can be even more frustrating. Thankfully, there are stores like Just Kid’n Around in Westfield, Indiana, that specialize in selling gently used clothing, toys, and accessories for children of all ages! For a fraction of the money that parents would spend on brand new items, they can outfit the entire family from Just Kid’n Around. From preemies and newborns to “tweens” and juniors, the latest fashions abound at Just Kid’n Around. One of the best things about Just Kid’n Around is that the staff is very particular about the seasonality of the clothing they accept. This way, parents can be assured there will be a plethora of winter coats to choose from in November and a bevy of bathing suits in late spring! Just Kid’n Around is also a great place to shop for designer label clothing. School uniforms are also often available as well. In addition to a huge selection of clothing, Just Kid’n Around also offers books, movies, and toys of all kinds. Whether a parent is looking for something fun or something educational, they will more than likely find it at Just Kid’n Around, and the prices are amazing. Even if you don’t have any children of your own, stop in and look for a gift. Many items are like new, and some of them actually are new! You can’t go wrong.
