An Infusion Of Flavor At Chinnar Indian Cuisine in Berwyn, PA

Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

chinnar indian cuisineFinding a bona fide Indian restaurant is hard enough without going into a major city; even then, the fare is usually some sort of Asian fusion catered for the masses. But for Main Line suburbanites in the know, Chinnar Indian Cuisine in Berwyn, PA offers authentic dishes seven days a week. I have visited numerous times for dinner! However, I intend to make an earlier arrival at the soonest opportunity in order to take advantage of their daily lunch buffets. Everything I have ventured in trying has never disappointed. The best part of not knowing what I am trying is that it practically ensures something new with every return visit. Of course, some items have become part of my staple additions: vegetable samosa and pakora for appetizers served with mulligatawny soup is the perfect preamble to the coming entrée. I have a difficult time choosing my favorite main dish, but I always lean to their lamb dishes, particularly the lamb vindalu – a hot and sour curry flavoring cooked into tender pieces of lamb that practically dissolve in your mouth. My fiancée is bound to take some of my dish, so I order something new for us both to share as well. Her favorites usually are any of the biryanis (shrimp, chicken and lamb), but likes the vegetarian dishes as well. We always recommend this place because the service and the food never disappoints. Come dine here with friends, family, and dates who have a sense of adventure! To find more restaurants that serve ethnic food, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.

Sol Food Restaurant, Collective Dining At Its Tastiest In San Rafael, CA

sol food restaurantSol Food Restaurant brings delicious, authentic Puerto Rican food to San Rafael, CA. The staff members are friendly and the menu has something for everyone everyone, including amazing vegan options. Their Cubano sandwiches are fantastic, as are their two types of plantains and their jar of limonada. The Bistec Sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! The steak was savory and succulent. The avocado added a creamy touch, while the grilled onions, cheese, and special sauce all blended wonderfully to create a genuinely delicious sandwich! The restaurant usually gets a little crowded, but that is expected with the food being so good. You can always order your food to go, but I would definitely suggest eating at the establishment. Sol Food arranges the dining space as one large communal room. The bench seating and long wooden tables are filled on a first come, first serve basis. You are encouraged to sit with random groups of people, which creates a family atmosphere. As I said before, this place has great choices for vegans and vegetarians, offering yummy plantains and hearty veggie sandwiches. All organic and great Caribbean food is also available. You may have to share a table with complete strangers, but that is part of the charm of this place. Sol Food not only has delicious food, it also has a great atmosphere! Eating here is like transporting yourself to Puerto Rico! For other flavorful restaurants like this, visit globalYP.net, an online directory.

If you’re looking for a great vegetarian restaurant in Fresno, CA, look no further than New Stars Vegetarian Restaurant. This restaurant first opened in Merced, CA, and following their success there, they opened a location in Fresno, CA with several of the same items, and several delicious new ones! They serve lots of vegetable dishes, and lots of dishes with faux meat, ranging from tofu to seitan. My absolute favorite is the BBQ “chicken” served with brown rice and asparagus. It is beyond delicious. Another great choice is the coconut “chicken” curry. They have an extensive menu, and they also have a salad buffet for a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. The servers are always very courteous and attentive. Their presentation is very nice. The food is always wonderfully arranged on the plate. Their vegetables are always very fresh, and the blends of spices that they use are very fragrant and delectable. It is definitely one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the Fresno area, if not all of Central California. I would recommend them to anyone who likes vegetarian food, vegan food, healthy food, Asian Fusion, or just plain good food! Go there tonight! You won’t be disappointed. Satisfy Your Cravings At Howard’s Café In Patchogue, NY

Posted by Jordan G. on May 17, 2010

howards cafeHoward’s Café in Patchogue, NY is one of the most unassuming bar/restaurants I have ever been to. The bar area has TVs tuned to the current games. The rest of the place is small and somewhat quiet. The tables are like the food: big and without frills. Memorabilia lines the walls and you can find everyone from families to couples out on dates enjoying themselves. It is a place for everybody. The food is some of the best I have had. Howard’s has some of the best burgers in Long Island. Different variations are offered and named after numerous local points of interest, like Route 27 or Holbrook. A customer can choose beef, turkey, or vegetarian burgers. The burgers also come with more fries than you can eat in one sitting and the world’s simplest salad. This consists of a quarter of a head of lettuce, croutons, and thick sliced tomatoes and onions. The wings here are a hidden gem, just spicy enough for those who like the heat, but not so much that the more timid eater will not enjoy them. This establishment also offers more substantial fare, like shell steak and pasta dishes. Howard’s is a great place that has something for everyone. You will not be disappointed. Ward’s Has Wonderful Produce In Gainesville, FL

Posted by Keri W. on April 30, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places, Retail Stores / No Comments

Ward’s is a local grocery market that is local-friendly. They have all sorts of fruits and vegetables, but offer a huge section of organic fruits and veggies too. They are very vegan and vegetarian friendly, one of the biggest stores of their kind in North Central Florida by far. They even carry fresh products from local vendors like freshly baked pitas and breads from Gyros Plus on the east side of town. They also have fresh made baklava and hummus from other vendors. They even carry tempeh and soy treats. Ward’s is known for their fresh produce, but they also have a great selection of meats as well. The prices aren’t great compared to the deals you can get at chain stores, but you can expect better quality. It is a local market with local flair. You can catch the locals bringing their eco friendly bags with them, as they shop for nuts from the huge selection of fresh nuts, granolas, pre made rice soups, and dried fruit. If you’re looking for a great deal on produce, be sure to swing by the sale shopping cart towards the front of the store on weekdays. This is where the managers put all the produce that is going bad or is over-ripe. The store doesn’t have room for these products, so they are heavily discounted. The venue itself is really small, but you can expect to find a bargain on fresh produce and locally grown items. You can expect to find tons of local business listings available online with globalYP.net.

Chava’s Mexican Restaurant Has Super Tacos In St Louis, MO

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhartney/2853645870/Chava’s Mexican Restaurant in St. Louis, MO is a fantastic to place to go if you’re in the mood for Mexican food. First, the service is terrific. They are friendly and right away you are greeted with chips and salsa. The drinks are cheap and they have a large selection of what a Mexican restaurant should have: margaritas. And they are all delicious! There is also a very generous selection of beer if that is more your speed. Next, the food is top-notch and the menu is large so finding something is a piece of cake. The fried tacos are usually my choice as they are perfect. Beef or chicken and filled with the freshest ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheese or whatever you want! The standard rice and bean sides are a perfect complement to the fried taco meal. Chava’s also has a large vegetarian section if that’s what you’re into. Lastly, I know dessert doesn’t always sound great after a large meal of tacos, but the fried cheesecake is so good. It’s large, so sharing it with another person is a great idea. A pastry filled with cheesecake and smothered in chocolate and caramel, the fried cheesecake is the perfect way to end a delicious meal. Or you could just have another margarita! GlobalYP.net is the perfect way to find local listings online.

Sam’s Grill Has A Great Selection In Wynnewood, PA

Posted by Keri W. on April 23, 2010

http://www.flickr.com/photos/sanfranannie/3634084746/What do you get when you cross a vegetarian Mexican, an American, an Italian and a Jew with soul? Either a really diverse and socially confused individual or the line up of foods that await you at Sam’s Grill. Truly a cornucopia of continental and ethnic cuisine, the most discriminating diner cannot have the problem of finding a pleasing item to sample from this deliciously packed menu. The lunch time special – served from 11:00am – 3:00pm – is my favorite part of the work day: with a choice of soup and salad or ½ a sandwich, I can enjoy my matzoh ball soup with my tuna hoagie. The toughest decision of the day is choosing what item to satisfy my palette. That’s why it’s good to know that you can come back to Sam’s for dinner or breakfast. If you’re looking for something meaty, messy and zinging with taste, order a rack of the St. Louis ribs; and if you feel guilty about those poor tasty cattle, then order a veggie quesadilla to go. You have to enjoy a place where you can go from Kosher to cholesterol killer Cajun cheese fries. Enjoy how easy it is to use globalYP.net, a searchable online directory.

Posted by Keri W. on April 20, 2010
Eating & Drinking Places / No Comments

If you’re looking for some great Asian Fusion in Fresno, CA, check out the new restaurant, Mangosteen at 4965 N Fresno Street! They serve a wide variety of Asian dishes, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options for those of us who eschew meat. Some of my favorite dishes are the pad Thai, sans egg, and with tofu instead of meat, and the twice cooked eggplant with basil. The eggplant is slowly cooked until the consistency is a wonderful melt in your mouth experience. They use the freshest of vegetables, which are always crisp and colorful. The tofu they use is nice and firm, with a great bite. The atmosphere in the dining area is wonderful. The color palette that they have chosen is very calm and relaxing. It is very serene. It is a very family friendly restaurant. They haven’t thrown us out either of the times that my 2 year old daughter has thrown tantrums there! The prices are very reasonable, starting at around $8 a dish, and the dishes can be served family style, so you can share all your different dishes around the table. It’s a wonderful family dining experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for great, fresh tasting Asian Fusion, with vegetarian and vegan options.
