The Honeymoon Bakery in Rome, Georgia is by far the best bakery around. My husband and I first went there before we got married to see about ordering our wedding cake. When we called to make an appointment, the lady who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. Once we went to the appointment, we were given a sheet to look over with different flavors of cake listed. We picked out several different types, and the baker made miniature cakes for us in those flavors. Since the bakery is located in downtown Rome, we walked across the street to look at a couple of stores while we waited for our sample cakes. When we went back to pick up the cakes, they were ready and waiting for us. She had wrapped them up nicely for us to take home and test out for ourselves. After testing the cakes, we were hooked. They were so good! We had never had cake that good before. We made another appointment to set our final decisions on the cake. The staff there was so helpful in us making our decision. We really loved the one-on-one appointment time that we got with the actual person who would be making our wedding cake, and groom’s cake. When the wedding day came, the baker delivered and set up our cakes, and we were completely blown away. The level of professionalism coming from a small town bakery is incredible. Our wedding ceremony was held on the front lawn with around 80 guests in September 2007. We were given use of several rooms in the main house for dressing and preparation. The reception followed immediately after in the Fox Den. Our wedding took place on a Sunday, and the fee we paid included exclusive use of the property from 3 PM Sunday to noon Monday, use of two rooms for changing, accommodations for six guests to stay overnight, and of course use of the grounds and the reception facility.
